Happy 10th Birthday, Yvonne York!
Since Naomi hosted our co-ed sleepover while Mom was away; we got in on a birthday vid-chat with Yvonne and her family as part of our breakfast adventure. That happened after Tai Chi in Naomi’s back yard; and we took care of both the meal cooking and clean-up. Yvonne had modest plans for her birthday with some best friends; and we only helped with that vid-chat and the group gift that Naomi sent to her cousin.
As for our adventures, we had fun last night with dinner, studying, the teen praise team practice, and some music fun after that back at Naomi’s house before we got around to the co-ed cuddle and nap time by around midnight. Sophia and Aaron did not join us for the last parts of the night, but only because they had their own plans after we left the church. We did eventually get some sleep, and then after the early morning fun at the Seagers; and then we had a quiet and good school day. The weather is back to being pretty good today with sun and a high in the sixties; so football and cheer squad practices were fun as well as challenging. Ehlana and I hosted the dinner and study session that included a group Magi lesson and music practice. We even managed a bit of work with Mom after our friends headed to their home; used some time phasing to get more done; and added in a vid-chat with Cassie and Michael. They’re nearly done with their work in the French Polynesian islands and will only have a bit of work to do during their final days there while taking some time off for sightseeing and to relax before the long trip home.
That brings us up to now, and we’re tired; so let’s make the world news report quick too. Peace talks for Ukraine are back again with a not-so-secret new plan that is still all talk and no action. The actual fighting is still terrible for Ukraine on the ground; the destruction continues at a high level every day; and the corruption scandal for the top politicians is looking very bad for western leaders as it appears that hundreds of millions or maybe even billions of dollars of support sent to Ukraine have been stolen and siphoned off to enrich those Ukrainian politicians and government officials. There are reports out there about Venezuela again today too – this time a claim that President Trump has approved a CIA plan to assassinate or capture President Maduro. So much for promises of ending regime change operations and war! The rest of the top ‘real’ stories continue to be ignored; the daily distractions continue and we don’t need to mention the nonsense of the day; and tensions continue to rise in many countries around the world. The risks of new conflicts are expanding; and we really wish that we could keep that from happening – just as we wish that we could end all of the current problems in the world.
That isn’t going to happen tonight – or anytime soon; so we’re just going to wrap this up and get some sleep starting right now.
