Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 25th Birthday, Tim Landry!
We didn’t get to celebrate Tim’s special day with him because he was flying to Indianapolis with Rowen by the time we got home from Crystal Springs and our shopping trip. They had a birthday breakfast before heading to the airport and we know they had a video chat with Cassie and Michael, but other than leaving gifts for him; that was all we could do with him; and we’ll leave it to Rowen and their college friends to help make his special day awesome! While we’ve mentioned Cassie and Michael anyway, they are still in-transit for home and that wedding in Indianapolis as we write this; and that feels weird to write about again tonight when they were already traveling last night around this time. They’re on the flight from Europe to the east coast now and moving closer in time zones too. They’ve had breaks between flights too and have another one coming up between the pond hop and the flight to Indianapolis, but it feels as though they’re nearly home – and we mean that from the perspective of what we sense from them and how that is affected by proximity to us. We can’t relate to how our friends and family feel when they don’t sense those connections at a distance from us, but we don’t expect to test our links through other travel options – like space travel! ;^)
Moving along, our day started with Tai Chi by the hotel pool for six and breakfast with Dad and Anna Marie at their usual diner; we went for a swim in the pool; and then packed up and checked out of our extra rooms. Mom did a bonus stop for ‘fresh’ supplies; we picked up fast food for Aunt Leanne even though she was with us in the city yesterday; and got home in time to deliver that food to the office by lunchtime. Mom dropped Naomi and Aiden off at their homes with their bags of clothes and gifts; Ehlana and I helped with that work and then unloading our own purchases and putting everything away; and then we moved on to the lab or archives for the rest of the afternoon. We didn’t make any plans with our friends for the rest of today – we needed the lab time and Mom wanted us to work in the office tonight to help with some post-travel work related to Cassie and Michael’s trip. After a play day, we were happy to do all of that; but don’t have anything newsworthy to offer from that work-play. The lab or archives time was a bonus we hadn’t planned, so we mostly just finished up what we’ve been working on this summer and got our work spaces ready for the school year where we won’t be able to do as much as we’ve done over the past month and change. We had an easy-dinner with Mom; she did a Magi lesson with us; and then we mixed in some time phasing to get more done in less ‘real’ time. Mom had us wrap up at nine-thirty; bath or Jacuzzi time followed; and now we’re winding down fast to nap time.
That’s pretty much all we have for tonight. We got a lot done – even after only doing a bit of shopping and the drive home until early afternoon. There isn’t any extra news for Cassie and Michael beyond the flights we’ve already mentioned; and the world news hasn’t changed today in any good ways. The politicians involved in the Ukraine conflict are busy talking about next peace talk meetings with nothing actually set up as thousands more are dying and the destruction continues in never-ending waves of drones and bombs and missiles. A report making the rounds about a Ukraine military hack has a new number of one-point-seven million killed and missing Ukrainian soldiers is out there, and if true; that is much-worse than what is claimed by western leaders to now – and doesn’t include Ukraine’s wounded soldiers. It also means that the Ukrainian army could be on the brink of collapse; since that also suggests that their forces could be down to a few hundred thousand; leaving them significantly outnumbered by the Russian forces. It isn’t tough to do the math on that, since even the admitted numbers are around one-thousand soldiers lost per day; it would only take about ten more months of fighting at these levels to wipe out the rest of the Ukrainian army. We don’t want to see that happen, but the western leaders seem to be in total denial; so it could be over and surrender the only option left by the time they do figure it out. As for the Middle East, the same is true, if in a different way; and there might not be many Palestinians left by the time the rest of the world is sickened enough by what Israel is doing to force a stop to it – or maybe they won’t stop at all and just move on to destroying Lebanon and Syria next.
Let’s stop there. Ehlana and I need to get some sleep now; since we’re going to be busy with a couple of chores days ahead of the holiday weekend. That might not be exciting to write about over the next few days, but we’ll have fun – and do have Cassie and Michael’s homecoming on Sunday to look forward to as well as the rest of our work and play plans. For now, though, we’re out of here and ready for the nap time starting right now.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
