Happy 12th Birthday, Drew Spencer!
Congratulations, Marcie Sheldon and Allen White – You’re Married!
Ehlana and I haven’t been involved in either the wedding or Drew’s special day – though we did offer him our best wishes when we saw him when we saw him at the park today during my baseball game.
Baseball has been the focus of our day, and thanks to the schedules for this season; we actually had all of our family teams playing today – which is why we’ve spent a lot of the day at the park; and will be back there again after a quick dinner for the evening co-ed game. The wedding affected at least some of the ball games so far today while some players couldn’t be with their teams due to those festivities. That included Sophia and Aaron missing our games this afternoon; and we’re happy to report that we won our games despite not having them playing today – saving them from getting teased about being responsible for our teams losing first games of the season without them. Ehlana, Naomi, and the Hawks did have their closest game of the season-so-far and only won by a run over the Eagles. Aiden and I helped our team to a ten-to-eight win that was only a bit better than Ehlana and Naomi’s win because we coasted to our win after earning a large, early lead. Brianna, Faith, and their team cruised to the largest win of the day so far; and Caleb, Sebastian, and their team were on the wrong side of the wedding-related player deficit and lost their battle by three runs. We’ll find out soon whether ‘our’ co-ed team can win tonight, but we’re expecting that Jake and Stephanie’s friends and team mates will help them out with a bonus, belated tenth anniversary gift. Jake and Stephanie will be playing tonight; and they’ll have a quieter night at the Inn while so many people in town will be busy with the Sheldon-White wedding reception.
Ehlana and I are writing this update now while getting cleaned up and changed before dinner and the evening baseball fun. We don’t have much time right now either, since we need to eat quickly and then get back to the park; and won’t have time later because Ehlana will be staying with Aiden and his family tonight while Naomi will be here with me.

Ethan and Naomi:
Cassie and Michael have won another fight with the head of the Dark Magi Master family with most of the power in Italy. They met Matteo Baresi late tonight local time at his mountain valley estate in northern Italy; taking advantage of the opportunity to fight him while his wife was away and visiting their daughter and young, twin granddaughters. Cassie and Michael are okay and have already dealt with some co-healing from injuries they accumulated during the fight; and this battle was tough on them. We can report that Matteo Baresi did not have a gang of mercenaries or even guards to back him up – he was confident in his own power. He also taught Cassie and Michael some new-to-them dirty tricks; and that’s why they had those injuries to heal after the fight. Naomi and I are writing this update because even with the time change; that fight only ended a little while ago; and we just got the details via a vid-chat that we had with Cassie, Michael, Mom, and Dad.
The fight highlights include the end and victory for Cassie and Michael that has left Matteo without any Magi abilities, but the interesting news from the actual battle of powers are all about the awful uses of his power that Matteo brought against his enemies. Those tactics included trying to sink Cassie and Michael into solid rock; dropping tons of a mountain on them; burning them to death with lava; and drowning them and tearing them apart with water and wind. Cassie ranked him near the top of the list-so-far for how tough this fight was for them – though it was his choices for using his abilities that made him so dangerous – including his ability to defend himself and slow down their power-drain counter-attacks. This was also one of the longer fights; and it took hours for them to finally defeat him.
The rest of the fight details will be available in their personal archives, but before Naomi and I get back to our co-ed cuddle time and eventual nap break; we want to mention that Cassie and Michael did not try to defeat the entire Baresi family because Matteo’s twin granddaughters are only six; and likely wouldn’t survive for long against the other Magi Master families in the region without their mother to protect them. Yes, Gwyneth has survived against her enemies since birth, but her personal cost for doing that has been more than she understands; and we can hope for better for these kids. We all believe that this is the right choice for right now; and we really hope that we won’t regret it in the future.
Finally, Cassie and Michael again left Matteo with no memory of them; so we’ll also hope for the best for him and that he can find his way to the light and is allowed the time to do that by his family – and foes. That is all for now, though, so Naomi and I can wrap this up and get back to enjoying the alone time opportunity!
