Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 4th Birthday, Ryan Jacobs!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Carson Carter!
Happy 14th Birthday, Jenna Sparks!
Happy 19th Anniversary, Pastor John and Stacey!
Happy 13th Anniversary, Grandpa Grant and Grandma Eleanor!
This is getting to be a very busy day for celebrations that affect a large percentage around here, but we didn’t get to do much partying while dealing with writing exams and studying for the next round of exams tomorrow. We did do a cameo visit for Ryan’s party and Jenna did some studying with us while only taking a dinner break for her party with family and a few friends, but we left it up to others to handle the rest of the parties and fun while we were busy.
Our exams were easy for us – no surprise; band practice was cancelled because of them; and baseball practices were rained out today thanks to rounds of rain and thunderstorms that have rolled through town all day and this evening. That rain didn’t affect us much other than getting damp between buildings we stayed in, but it did likely put a damper on one or more of those parties; and the farm workers needed to do more indoor work too – especially when there was lightning in the area. Naomi hosted the study sessions and dinner for those of us who weren’t at Jenna’s dinner party. Ehlana and I helped with the work on either side of dinner along with the studying and tutoring, but we had fun with everything; and stayed there a bit later than planned because some of our friends wanted extra help tonight. We came home at a bit after eleven o’clock. Mom and Dad were done their work in the office by then; and we don’t need to comment on anything else that they might have been doing while the kids were away for a second evening!
Mom did do a short Magi lesson with us; we had a bedtime chat and snack break with Mom and Dad; and Ehlana and I have been doing our regular computer checks and twin chat since getting ready for bed. We are not going to get into yet another commentary or rant on world and political news tonight because it is getting late and we need to rest up for the next round of exams. It continues to seem that all peace talks are nothing more than political theatre while both sides in each conflict continue to fight on with even more escalations in Ukraine that is taking the death and destruction up a level or two again. Yes, that was inevitable as we head into summer, but we really don’t want to see the daily casualty counts to climb back up into thousands a day as we had last summer and fall! The horror that is Gaza for the Palestinians is going to get worse too as millions continue to deal with what Israel is doing to them and the world continues to stand by and allow to happen.
We need to stop now since that rant is going to happen again if we don’t, but let’s add that the rhetoric directed at China really needs to be stopped before we really do escalate these tensions into a world war. That sounds a bit crazy, but we think that’s true for the world leaders that keep doing everything they can to ratchet up tensions and fears for their own gains with no real care for the potential consequences. Okay, that’s all, since I really seem to want to go on about this and we don’t have all that much time left to recharge and get ready for our third day of exams – and the studying that Ehlana and I will be hosting tomorrow afternoon and evening.
Nap time here we come!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
