Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - June 10, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 2nd Anniversary, May and Lee!

We didn’t get to share in any of the celebration for May and Lee, but Cassie and Michael did a vid-chat with them today; and gifts were sent to them too.  Hopefully, they had a happy day – though thanks to the time change; their special day ended hours ago anyway for their local time.

Here at home, we had a good day at school with lots of outdoor play time; our last band practice was all about getting ready for the Fourth of July parade; and then we brought Naomi and Aiden home for dinner ahead of our baseball practices this evening.  We had fun with all of that too; and didn’t get any work done today or tonight – partly because Mom ordered us to take the evening off from the office work or even a Magi lesson.  Should we pretend that her orders weren’t motivated by our need for bath or Jacuzzi time after those practices?  No – let’s go with the truth and concede that Mom really didn’t want us tracking all of the ball diamond dirt all over the office or anywhere else in the house.  That’s why we pretty much headed upstairs to get cleaned up; we did have a visit with Mom and Dad once we were ready for bed; and then we’ve been busy with our computer checks and twin chat since then.

The political theatre of the day includes ongoing turf battles related to the protests and riots in Los Angeles, and while we don’t want to minimize the seriousness of those problems; none of that should be happening at all and there are people out there inciting the violence despite the fact that it will not end well for anyone directly involved on the ground.  The leaders involved in sparking these protests should be ashamed of themselves; and it is insane to risk having this spark into something that could spread and become uncontrollable.  It also looks a lot like the ‘color revolutions’ that we’ve incited in other countries all over the world; and using that playbook here in our own country really is insane.

There isn’t any good news out of Ukraine or the Middle East while the talk continues to go nowhere and the killing and destruction on the ground grinds on with no end in sight.  Trade talks between the U.S. and China continue, but it is tough to see how that makes any difference when we are also threatening five-hundred percent tariffs on China if they don’t stop all trade with Russia.  That’s a proposed bill in the Senate that would affect all countries that trade with Russia if passed, so unless that gets taken off the table; we have no idea why China would make any deals with our country that could mean nothing at all in the near-future.  That’s true for diplomacy with Iran, but then they have no reason to trust us anyway; since we haven’t kept any of our deals with them in the past.

Let’s stop there and we’ll call it a night and go get some sleep.  We’re really down to our last day of school tomorrow before we wrap up the school year with our play day on Thursday and then the short day on Friday; so we should rest up to be ready for all of that fun!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
