Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - December 9, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 7th Birthday, Tristan Johnson!

Happy 1st Birthday, Melody Foster!

Our Johnson cousin is having a happy day – according to the report we got from Brianna while at school today.  We don’t know Melody at all yet, but include best wishes for her; since she is the daughter of two of Cassie’s and Michael’s townhouse neighbors, Josh and Andrea.  They mentioned the Fosters last night and had planned on chatting with them this morning, but weren’t making a trip to see Melody today – though they did send gifts.

As for our day, we had fun at school with a break from studies for music practices with the classes we’re helping this year; and then we’ve spent the rest of the afternoon and evening at the lab or archives.  We took a picnic lunch that we each multi-tasked that food with our work, so we didn’t actually stop for the meal, but we got a lot done; so we’re happy tonight.  Just for fun, let’s also mention that, contrary to folk wisdom, it is totally okay to eat too-fast – as long as you’re doing that in a time phase! ;^)

Moving along, my research is rolling along great; Ethan loves getting longer blocks of time to work with his books; and we might continue to have fewer but longer lab visits; since that is working pretty well for us right now.  Yes, we’d love to be there more-often, but that will be our future soon-enough; and we’re good with enjoying all of the other awesome parts of our lives that aren’t work.

Thanks to the time phasing, we put in about ten hours on our projects and still got home by Mom’s nine o’clock request.  We had a snack and chat with Mom and Dad before coming upstairs.  We’re ready for bed and finished with our computer checks; so we’re mostly just listening to some Christmas music and winding down our twin chat.  As already reported, Syria has been taken over by the latest iteration of jihadists that have been backed by our country and others; and the spoils are apparently already being divided.  Israel is taking a ‘buffer zone’ chunk of Syria bordering the Golan Heights; and Turkey will get their ‘payment’ by taking over a big part of Syria that borders Turkey.  We’ll likely ‘get the oil’ from Syria; since it has just been an inconvenience to us that Mother Nature misplaced our natural resources underneath Syrian soil!  Creating another Afghanistan horror for the Syrian people is a small price to pay for those strategic spoils of war, right?

Yes, that is sarcasm, and we don’t want to feel sad tonight; so let’s wrap this up.  Ethan and I are only picking one Christmas music video for our future readers tonight, and it is special to us; since we really do understand how blessed we are to have our home, family, and friends – especially on a night when we know that isn’t true for too-many people.  Enjoy our song pick while we head off to our beds and some quality nap time.
