Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 24th Birthday, Lily Spencer!
Ethan and I offered our best wishes to Lily this morning, but her special day has been muted by needing to work through the holiday shopping season. While our day hasn’t been party-worthy-fun; we have had a good day. Yes, our respective co-ed sleepovers had a lot to do with that; and we had fun with Naomi’s and Aiden’s families too – both last night and this morning. The church service and Sunday school were great; and we especially-loved the work we did to get ready for the teen-led Christmas services. Mother Nature blessed us with a sunny day in the mid-fifties; so we spent the afternoon biking trails and playing with our cousins and friends. Cassie and Michael came over for dinner with us – just the six of us; and then they stayed for a group Magi lesson; some future plans updates and discussions. We loved that time together, and then after Cassie and Michael went home to some work waiting for them there; we did some charity work before Mom sent us upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time.
After such an awesome day, I really don’t want to comment on world news, but need to do that for the sake of history. The Syrian government was defeated this weekend by a Jihadist army backed by our country and others; and we are sickened by that news and the fact that we’ve aided these horrible people to inflict themselves on the people of Syria – which had been the last secular nation in the region. For the record, we are going to do what we can through our charities to help as many people escape what is coming to that country while knowing that we can’t do nearly-enough to avoid all of the awful consequences that will be the result of this regime change perpetrated by our own leaders. The oil and other natural resources must flow as-cheaply as possible as we exploit and destroy yet another country and the Syrian people, though, so all is good, right? Evil people on all sides of these conflicts around the world need to be stopped, and while we can’t do that yet, we are going to make that happen; so fair-warning to all of the bad guys of the world!
Thanks to having ample reason to be disgusted with our national leaders, it is a bit of a challenge tonight to keep love and joy in our hearts, but that is what will change the world – even if that is only a bit at a time; so we are going to do our best to make that happen. Christmas music videos can’t really change the world that easily, but we do find joy in all of our favorites; and we’ll choose two of them again for double the Christmas cheer. Feel free to keep the guessing game going while we move on to nap time now, and yes, you will be able to quiz us in our future; since we will remember every song each of us picks forever! ;^)
The Greatest Gift – Andrea, Matteo, Virginia Bocelli
Kid at Christmas – Callum Scott and Christina Perri
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
