Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 26th Birthday, Garrett Wingborough!
It has stayed below-freezing all day and started in the mid-teens, but we’ve stayed warm most of the time and indoors – whether at home, school, or the lab. We’ve also had a few flurries this evening that made for a Christmassy feel in the air too; and we’d be okay with a white Christmas if we get that this year. Okay, we’ve been happy with sunny and warm Christmases too, since that can make for a different kind of holiday fun; so we’ll be happy with whatever we actually get this year.
As for our adventures of the day, we had fun at school with our classes and the bonus music play time while getting ready for the school Christmas concert. Ethan and I went to play at the lab after school, but had orders to only work there until dinnertime; so we got as much done as we could; and then we moved on to have a quiet evening with Mom and Dad. The pasta dinner was great; the teens in the house took care of the clean-up; and then we had a work evening in the office that included a Magi lesson and charity work. The news out of Syria is awful and we can’t do as much as we’d like to mitigate the worst that some people can be while filling a power vacuum when those new leaders are, well, evil. There are other places in the archives where you can read about current world events, but in this case, some of the stories are so-awful that we won’t be writing about them in our journal; and it is tough to accept that we can’t save more than a small fraction of the Syrians being destroyed by the Jihadists and everyone either supporting them or taking advantage for their own gains.
Instead of going on with that dark line of thought; let’s wrap this up. We used some time phasing to get more work done tonight; bath or Jacuzzi time was fit in between that work and now; and our twin chat time and bedtime computer checks have been quick – mostly because we’d already done a lot of the news reviews while working on charity projects. We’re up-to-date for all of the important information for sports, music, and entertainment that is required for teens; and now we’re ready to crash and nap. For tonight, we’ve paired up for our Christmas music video picks with another song about the importance of home and the other a new version of an old classic from our favorite children’s choir. Enjoy the music and messages; and we’ll go and get started on those naps right now.
