Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 2nd Birthday, Jarrod Wingborough!
Happy 22nd Birthday, Jimmy Sheldon!
Happy 29th Birthday, Josiah Palmer!
Ethan and I didn’t have much to do with any of those birthdays and parties, but there were gifts sent from the family; and Cassie and Michael were involved in all three of the parties – though they covered two of them at Sheldon’s pub; since Josiah’s party ended up there after a family-and-friends’ dinner while Jimmy had a work-party night with Emma, their families, and friends.
Our day was fun too, but not all that newsworthy. We had a good day at school; band practice was focused on getting ready for the parade on Saturday in Maple Valley; and then we brought our four best friends home for dinner and the evening. Studying came first while multi-tasking helping Mom with making dinner; we had a group Magi lesson after that meal and clean-up; and then we wrapped up our play time with a music practice. We’ve been drafted for several events now, and while we’re not offering a full set for the school Christmas dance or anything else; we are going to play a few songs at the dance; one for the seniors’ Christmas party; and two songs over Christmas at church – one for the teen concert and the other for the Christmas Eve service. We’re ready for all of that now – though we’ll be able to practice again for some of those songs. After our friends headed for their homes – with us walking Naomi and Aiden home with Silkie’s help; we joined Mom and Dad in the office for some family business work. Mom’s been focused on the Middle East thanks to the collapse of the Syrian government, and while we could lose some valued partnerships in the country; we don’t have any significant risk to our family businesses – at least financially. We are expecting serious challenges to our ability to help the people of Syria, but then that is something we deal with in a lot of countries with similar, radical leaders; so we’ll eventually help out as much as possible.
I am not going to get into another news rant tonight; so let’s wrap this up. Ethan and I were sent upstairs at ten-thirty; we’ve kept our bedtime computing to the basics; and now we’re ready to call it a night and get some sleep. Our Christmas music video pick of the day is also from a favorite Christmas movie; and we hope that you’ll appreciate the message as much as we do every time we listen to it or watch that movie. Enjoy it while we get started on our visit to dreamland.
The Heart of Christmas – Matthew West
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
