Ehlana and Ethan:
An early bedtime is in our near-future so that we can get back to full-power and also get up early to see Dad off on his trip to Crystal Springs. We had a lot of fun last night with our friends; there was some video gaming added in before the movies and after dinner; and then we only ended up with Naomi and Aiden staying for the night after the rest of our friends headed for their homes by midnight – or other places for the teens with alternate overnight plans. The Pizzeria pizza was a hit with our friends; the movies were Halloween themed – if a bit early for the season; and the co-ed nap time followed some quality cuddling and chat time after our friends were gone and Mom and Dad had gone to bed.
Church and Sunday school were the highlights of our morning, and then Ethan and I opted for work-playing at the lab or archives this afternoon while our friends were busy elsewhere with their own families. A play afternoon had been an option, but with Dad away next week, we aren’t going to have as much time to spend at the lab; so we decided to put in the extra time today instead. Mom and Dad hosted a minor family barbeque dinner that we got home in-time for, and then since we missed out on the cooking work; we were on clean-up duty while pretty much everyone else headed out for a walk or to other plans for the rest of the evening. Dad was ready for his trip by dinnertime, and Mom didn’t want us to work this evening, so we spent some extra time together before heading upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time.
After getting to that part of our day earlier than usual, Ethan met up with me for the usual bedtime twin chat and computing; and now we’re pretty much ready to move on to that early start to nap time. World news hasn’t improved at all as we wrap up the first half of September, but we’ve had a happy weekend; and don’t need to mess that up with any grim commentary on the continuing stupidity of our world leaders. We should mention that our grandparents are taking a break from family business or charity travel for a while – though they will still be wintering in the south. While they may do more trips in the future, they are getting older; and some of the work that needs to be done on those trips can be physically-demanding – not to mention the long travel days and everything else that goes into visiting different parts of the world. There are still a lot of local volunteers, though, and there is some recruiting happening regionally now as well as here at home; so we’re getting as much help as we can handle most of the time even as we expand our operations every year. There aren’t any specific projects that we want to write about tonight, but then there are other archives focused on those missions anyway; so those resources are better for getting those stories anyway.
Maybe we’ll even get to be part of some of those stories some day!
That isn’t going to happen anytime soon, and we really don’t have anything else to report; so we’re out of here and off to our early nap time starting right now.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
