Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 3rd Anniversary, Cody and Caylee Carter!
Since our last report, our two school days have been awesome; the school band practice was good; and we had a blast with Naomi, Aiden, and his family while with the Drapers for dinner and our Tuesday night while Mom was in the city with Dad. Other than a dinner with the Malloys, Mom and Dad didn’t apparently have any fun while kid-free; that’s our story; and we’re sticking to it. While we were with the Drapers, we played some music, watched a movie, and enjoyed a co-ed sofa sleepover; and then we started our Wednesday with Tai Chi by the river that Cassie and Michael joined us for at around dawn. For the record, we could have stayed with them last night, but they’re busy with their work and had video conferencing to deal with for international contacts; so we didn’t want to get in the way of that for them.
That start to our day was great, but then we were back at Aiden’s house and blasted through breakfast before the boys needed to get to the school for their weight training. Naomi and I had time to play dress-up with Hailey before we eventually went to school too; and we’ve already mentioned that we had a good day with our classes and other academic adventures. Mom got home from Crystal Springs and had lunch with Aunt Leanne; we had a quick visit with her after school before we headed for the lab or archives and our work-play there. We played with our books or beakers for a couple of hours; and have been home since then for dinner and a work evening. Mom cooked the pasta meal, so Ethan and I cleaned up; our four best friends came over for a quick study session and Magi lesson; and then we had charity and family business work that kept us busy until ten-thirty – including the equivalent of three time-phased hours.
We’ve been busy with our bedtime computing and twin chat since coming upstairs. We’re getting tired, so a major rant or commentary isn’t part of my plan for tonight, but out of the top news stories of the day; we do want to mention a new form of war tactics that Israel launched over the past couple of days – using pagers and communications radios to attack their enemies. We definitely have a problem with the thousands that have been injured by blowing up these devices; and expect that this will be something that will come back to haunt everyone in the future. If Israel can remotely blow up these types of personal devices then other countries or organizations can do the same and now that precedence has been set without condemnation; there is nothing to stop similar attacks happening in the future. Do we really want to see that sort of thing to become normal where our personal electronic devices are no longer nearly-certain to be safe? What is to stop anyone from doing the same thing to smart phones or any other ‘smart’ device? We will hope that never happens, but if it does; we’ll all have the people that came up with this plan to thank for new ways to kill and injure people. Some people might say that it will never happen, but they must not read even recent history; and the learning curve for doing bad things happens faster than ever. For example, Ukraine used drone boats to attack Russian ships and it was only months before that strategy started to be used to attack ships in the Middle East. For a non-rant, this is already running on a bit, but before we wrap this up; we also want to mention that this is yet another escalation in the conflict from ‘our’ side; and it is ridiculously-hypocritical while also warning opponents not to also escalate or retaliate regardless of what Israel does or how many people they kill and injure.
Okay, I’m going to stop now before I really get going on the rant I’m only thinking right now! We’ll continue to do what we can to off-set all of the bad in the world while keeping love and joy in our own lives and with everyone we love the most. Ethan and I need to catch up on some sleep now so that we can continue that mission tomorrow, so that’s all for tonight; and we’re out of here and off to dreamland.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
