Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 13th Birthday, Jennifer Byrd!
We’re going with a pre-lunch update because we’ll be heading out to hang with our friends for the rest of the day while we collectively help Jennifer out with celebrating her special day. Our day-so-far isn’t that interesting, but Tai Chi by the river and breakfast with Mom was good and then we saw her off on the way to Crystal Springs before we wandered over to the lab for a few hours of play-work time. Cassie and Rowen are in the city today too for wedding-related shopping, but we’ll save that story for after we get some details; since they haven’t even decided for sure whether they’ll stay for one or two nights. Mom is staying for two nights for sure; so it works out that we’ll be busy with our friends while she is away.
Ethan and I will be taking a picnic lunch along with us when we head out with our gear and tents for Jennifer’s house, and while we’ll be hanging out there as ‘home’ base and setting up the campground with our friends; the party won’t officially start until we head to the park for our ball practices and what today will be Jennifer’s birthday picnic dinner. The Pizzeria pizza food will be as normal; and there will be cake and ice cream for the celebration side of that meal. The weather continues to be awesome – though we won’t quite hit triple digits for the high today; so we expect to spend lots of time in and on the river as well as keeping entertained with everything from baseball to a birthday campfire.
We do need to get going soon, but before we do that; we should comment on the top story of the weekend that we haven’t wanted to write about while there weren’t really many details to go along with random and wild speculation. Yes, an attempt to assassinate former-President Trump is a serious story, and we add our condolences to the victims and their families and friends, but there appears to be much more to what happened than we might ever know about anytime soon or ever. We are not going to write more about this story unless we actually find out anything important about what really happened – especially since this story won’t distract us from focusing on the real problems we have around the world that aren’t being dealt with while too-many people pay attention to this latest political event. No, we don’t want to minimize what happened on Saturday – especially when civilian casualties, but there should be some perspective. For instance just from this past weekend; more than ninety were killed in an Israeli bombing of a Gaza refugee camp – a story that barely gets mentioned while this assassination attempt gets non-stop coverage.
So much for not ranting about anything in this report! Ethan and I really do need to get going now, though, so that’s all and we are out of here and off to spend the rest of the day partying and playing with our friends!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
