Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 4th Birthday, Gregory Denninger!
Welcome home, Grandma and Grandpa!
Having our grandparents return home after being in the sunnier south for the past four months is the highlight of our day, and we spent a lot of time with them from the time we got out of school through until after game night at the Inn. Cassie, Michael, and the Carringtons were with us too; we had dinner together at our house along with the play and social time around our house and a bit of canoeing fun on the river; and then game night was a blast too while our neighbors and friends happily welcomed our grandparents home too!
Ethan and I didn’t have any involvement in Gregory’s special day, but we do know that he was having a friends’ party that included a fast food dinner and a movie out – something that just isn’t all that common for the kids and teens in our little town. The Carringtons did a breakfast vid-chat with Gregory and his family; they passed along the birthday party plans news to us; and sent family gifts that Mom and Dad joined in on – if only financially.
As for the rest of our day, we started with Tai Chi by the river with Mom and Dad and then a standard, easy breakfast before we headed to school for the day. Our academic adventures were good with a test, a quiz, and an hour or so of presentations that we only watched from other classmates. There weren’t any newsworthy moments unless future readers are seriously interested in reading about our current education modules in science, math, or any other subjects. If you’re that bored, though, there are sections in the archives devoted to ‘normal’ education in our little town that would be perfect as a sleep aid at bedtime! ;^)
Moving along, we should mention that Naomi and Aiden were with us for all of the grandparent reunion fun. We walked them home after the gaming at the Inn and multi-tasked taking Silkie for a walk too; and then we pretty much headed up to our rooms after getting home for the night because Mom didn’t want us adding in any work or even a Magi lesson after an already-long day. That works for us, and we really don’t have much else to add to this update. We are going to mention that today is Victory Day – the day that Germany surrendered at the end of World War Two, and while media in our country basically ignores the news while it is still a very big deal in Russia and many other countries around the world; I’m only going to mention a quote that caught my attention tonight while doing out nightly computer checks. That wasn’t actually quoted exactly for the version we read, but basically, a now-prophetic Russian leader back then predicted that Europe would hate Russia – the Soviet Union at the time – for saving them from Germany and their coalition. Thanks to revisionist history, there may be a majority of people in western countries that don’t even know that Russia really did have the larger part in that victory over Germany, and it is amazing that it has proven true – while our country is considered as a friend and ally despite the fact that it was often our side of that war that caused the most damage and civilian casualties in the western-European countries along the way to defeating Germany.
That is enough for tonight. Stay tuned; since our weekend is going to be an amazing adventure!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
