Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy Mother’s Day to all of our favorite Moms!
Happy 34th Anniversary, Jacob and Miranda!
Happy 11th Birthday, Beth-Ann White!
Happy Belated 24th Birthday, Nora Roberts!
We should try harder to avoid triple updates; since we have been very busy this weekend! Let’s try to cover the highlights in some kind of order; and we’ll start from Friday afternoon.
Obviously, Clarissa’s birth was the top news for Friday, but we were busiest helping out with younger cousins and next-gen toddlers and babies. Naomi and Aiden helped us out with that; Cassie and Michael hosted some of that fun – though Cassie was at the clinic for a lot of the time while Rebecca was in labor; and Michael was there too when Clarissa was born while we took care of Sierra, Stuart, and Luke. Most of our younger cousins were with us too, and while we’ve already skipped over the part where we fed a large gang of kids and some parents and adults while the action was still heating up at the clinic, but covering every detail won’t be an option anyway. We do want to mention that we visited the clinic with the kids so that Luke could meet his sister and Sierra and Stuart could meet their new cousin too. That was a highlight of our night, and we spent some time with Sophia and Aaron too; since they were doing the same while they’d been helping out with next-gen Bassett clan cousins. We don’t want to get into a major family tree commentary tonight, but there has been a lot of inter-family contact this weekend for the new baby, the wedding, and Mother’s Day.
Rebecca had a tough labor, and while our Magi healers don’t usually help non-Magi unless there is serious need; Cassie helped Rebecca – though not enough for her to feel miraculously-better. For the record, Clarissa is a latent – like her brother and mother, so no special shielding was needed either, but that really just made the evening easier for all of the Magi in the family. Cassie’s help for her sister-in-law did not affect the decision to keep Rebecca and Clarissa at the clinic overnight; and they had a lot of support from our doctors, nurse, and their families. Lucas focused on them too, so Cassie and Michael kept Luke with them for Friday night. We continued our help with the kids late into the evening; Mom and Dad ended up hosting Brianna, Faith, Leah, and Hailey while some of the boys were elsewhere; and Ethan and I kept Naomi and Aiden for eventual co-ed sofa sleepovers after the younger girls crashed and napped. We had extra work to do on Saturday morning, but before we move on; let’s also mention that Clarissa’s birth affected Jimmy and Emma’s wedding rehearsal and dinner – and not just because Rebecca and Lucas were in the wedding party. The rehearsal still went ahead with stand-ins for the new parents, and the party that followed happened too, but that ended up being as much a celebration for the baby; and everyone stopped in for visits to the clinic too.
Our Saturday started out with bonus fun thanks to the extra exercise buddies; we had a hot breakfast; and then the chores to-do list needed to be kept short because of the big wedding. Naomi and Aiden split up with us for that work; we finished up as-quickly as we could; and then we had a couple of hours of busy while getting ready for the wedding and fitting in a lunch break. Naomi and Aiden were our dates for the wedding ceremony, but we also had to deal with kid control while at the church; and then our jobs continued through the rest of the day. The ceremony for Jimmy and Emma was wonderful; and then the rest of our adventures surrounded taking care of a gang of kids at Cassie and Michael’s house – especially once the dinner and reception started at Sheldon’s Pub. With limited space, we were not there for the dinner – though some of the next-gen kids were there while we took care of feeding the kids we cared for while their parents were at the party. We had fun with Pizzeria pizza and sides – even with some games from Zack, Eli, and some of the other boys. Our evening entertainment included back yard games, video games and a movie after dark, and some music fun. While we were busy, we can also report that the party at Sheldon’s was awesome; and one of the highlights there was a short set of ballads from Cassie and Michael that began with the first song for the newlyweds. Mom and Cassie also teamed up for what was apparently a memorable billiards victory; and we don’t need to comment on what any of our favorite parents might have done with their kid-free night while we were at Cassie and Michael’s for the night with about half of the kids while the rest were eventually picked up by their parents or others. We also need to mention that while Sophia and Aaron weren’t with us too; they were doing their own babysitting at Sophia’s house for some of her cousins and other kids; and Sophia eventually kept Aaron for the night too.
That brings us to this morning, and we had a gang of Tai Chi workout buddies – including Mom and Dad. Cassie and Michael hosted a major, multi-family Mother’s Day breakfast, and while we helped out with that work too; Naomi and I were also in charge of kid control and getting the girls ready for church. We were also celebrating Jacob and Miranda’s anniversary, so the Stone clan was there too; and there is no way for us to cover every moment that included everything from roasting for them to baby fun with Clarissa. We managed to get to church on time where the Mother’s Day fun was just part of the adventure. Clarissa was very popular while being introduced to the congregation; Jacob and Miranda got a lot of attention too; there was the post-wedding entertainment that included bonus donations to the church from Mom and Cassie; and the birthday entertainment for Beth-Ann. Yes, Beth-Ann is a Mother’s Day baby; so that added bonus fun for her family and friends! We had a blast at church and Sunday school; helped younger classes with Mother’s Day crafting to go along with the usual, annual flowers for our favorite Moms; and then we moved on to the rest of our adventures for the day.
That fun included a Mother’s Day backyard picnic that Mom and Dad hosted, but the guys in the family did most of the work for; Ethan and I moved on from there with Naomi and Aiden to help out with Beth-Ann’s birthday party; and we did that in support of Aaron and Sophia. Beth-Ann did not invite boys to her party other than family members, but Leah and Hailey were among the friends on her guest list; so we go to spend some time with them too. The weather was awesome with the high into the low-eighties; so that was perfect for backyard games and play time. We eventually moved on to the late buffet at the Inn for dinner – and that did include Beth-Ann and her girlfriends, but Ethan, Naomi, Aiden, and I were with our families for that meal while the gang with Beth-Ann and her family were in one of the small dining rooms.
That was also the end of our birthday-related fun, but we enjoyed the meal; got to have some bonus time with our grandparents, Cassie, Michael, and some of the members of the Stone-Norton clans; and then we eventually headed for home with just a short detour for a walk with Silkie while we saw Naomi and Aiden to their homes. We haven’t covered much of the news directly-related to Mom, but then you’re better off reading her journals for that instead of ours – especially if she writes anything about the fun she had without any of her kids around either last night or today. Sure, Dad did apparently get some work done this afternoon too while we were at Beth-Ann’s party, but they are very happy tonight; so it doesn’t take junior Magi Master geniuses to concluded that they also had the kind of fun that we won’t be writing about here in our journals! ;^)
Moving along, Dad will also be heading to the city in the morning; and that’s why we didn’t do a lot of work after getting home. Mom did a Magi lesson with us, and we talked about some work that is ongoing for the family business and charities, but then it was bath or Jacuzzi time for some of us; and we all want to get some rest before we’ll be up early for Dad’s departure to Crystal Springs. Our bedtime computing and twin chat has rolled on a bit longer than we should have let it, but then we have been talking about everything we’ve being having fun with over the weekend and looking ahead to the coming week too. We need to make more time for playing at the lab or archives, but want to juggle that with everything else we have on the go as well as maybe finding extra time for our grandparents and everything else on our schedule that includes baseball and another round of family-and-friends’ events. We’re too-tired to get into all of that tonight, though, so that’s it for this report. Crashing and napping needs to be next on our to-do lists; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland as soon as we can get there.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
