Ehlana and Ethan:
***RESTRICTED UPDATE***
Okay, Gwyneth is definitely on Santa’s naughty list now – if she wasn’t already or on there permanently!
Today, she not only sent her goons after Naomi again, she showed up to ‘help them out’ without their apparent knowledge of that part of her plan. The surprise was on her, since she hadn’t expected Cassie to be there too, but then she also had no idea at all that her attempts to abduct Naomi put her up against three Magi – not one. This attempt happened this afternoon while Naomi and her classmates and chaperones were visiting Jamestown as part of their colonial history day, and before we go on; we are wondering tonight whether Gwyneth is even aware of the history rhyme to when Gawain showed up to possibly go after Cassie while she was on her Grade Eight trip. Gwyneth did not decide to walk away today as Gawain did back then, and Cassie knows that she is now furious after Cassie not only easily kept her from doing anything to hurt Naomi or any innocents while her goons were also defeated despite the ambush they’d set up and that Gwyneth had attempted to hide from Cassie. Nobody around them ‘saw’ anything either, and the only way that Gwyneth avoided experiencing another one of Cassie’s special power shields was because she chose to escape shortly before Cassie was going to get Michael and Naomi to help her out with that shield.
Cassie thinks that Gwyneth chose to leave then because escalating their little fight would have required a much more risky display of power that she didn’t want to do around thousands of people when it was obvious that she wasn’t going to get what she wanted or defeat Cassie either. Let’s also mention that Cassie does not have a good feeling about the future of this group of Gwyneth’s mercenaries, but we’ll likely never know for sure whether they will survive their contract with Gwyneth, she did try to warn them; and they ignored her both yesterday and today.
That is all for this second round of trouble, and this time; I’ll simply add that my brother is a very, very lucky guy to have had Naomi choose him! ;^)
***END OF RESTRICTED UPDATE***
Naomi, Aaron, and the rest of our favorite people that are in Washington this week had another awesome weather day; and that definitely worked for them while their adventures were all about colonial history as they visited colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown. They’ve also done a fast food dinner and an evening sightseeing walk around the National Mall; and we’ll skip the annual jokes related to shopping that can’t happen there while semi-doing that anyway.
While our hometown adventures aren’t as amazing – and not just because Naomi isn’t here with us; we have had another good day and managed to keep busy while missing two of our best friends. Today we had a test, a quiz, and project presentations going on for parts of our school work. Our outdoor breaks included some lunchtime football that Ethan was drafted for; and I’ll add that he is also one of the fastest guys on the field that included some of our school team players. The high today was near-eighty, so while Ethan would have gone to the archives to keep busy, we talked him into biking with us after school; and we had a small gang of friends and some cousins that decided to go along with us for a fast ride to Quarry Lake and back. You definitely need to ride steadily to do that in just a couple of hours and also have time for a break at our favorite campground, but don’t take that the wrong way; since Brianna and Faith were two of those cousins; and they can do that ride fairly-easily too.
While I got Ethan to go along with us, that deal included going to play at the lab or archives after dinner. We had that meal with Mom and Dad first and took care of the clean-up before doing that, but then we got into our work after that and lost track of time until Mom came to get us at eleven o’clock. It was closer to midnight by the time we got home; and we’ve kept busy since then with bath or Jacuzzi time and our usual bedtime computing and twin chat fun.
Getting cleaned up was necessary after the bike ride – and I’m not just suggesting that because Silkie would have found somewhere else to sleep tonight if we hadn’t gotten clean! We haven’t really enjoyed the usual news checks, since there aren’t any good things happening to end the conflicts around the world. Real diplomacy seems to be hard to find anywhere – except for in places looking for ways around dealing with ‘western’ countries. We understand why that’s happening, since trust in the western financial systems is being destroyed; and that is happening to the point where many countries and people are willing to risk the political downside to preserve their own finances and economic future. As we’ve mentioned other times, that’s something that we regularly need to deal with for our family business and charity interests; and we’ll make changes too as needed to protect ourselves – including from our own government as they seem determined to devalue our currency.
That’s too-serious for tonight, since we’re already feeling a bit sad while Naomi is away, so let’s just wrap this up and call it a night. We’ve already wrapped up another month, since May has already started; so let’s also hope for another awesome month to look forward to; since the last one was fairly-amazing! Okay, that really is enough and it is late; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
