Happy 2nd Birthday, Mariah Palmer!
This is another afternoon update because we’re hosting a babysitting night while many of our favorite parents and adults are out for a Christmas dinner at the Inn and party at Sheldon’s Pub. Mariah will be one of the kids with us tonight; so we’ll help out with her birthday adventures – though we weren’t in on her lunch and party this afternoon. Instead of doing that or anything else, we worked around the house to get it ready for all of our sleepover guests; and we are going to have a full house. We’ve had some help for that too, but our besties are currently checking in with parents and re-packing for another sleepover. They’re babysitting with us; so we aren’t likely to have as much tween-rated fun tonight! ;^)
As for the rest of our story from yesterday, Mom went with a finger foods dinner; we went on to the school with our gear; and had extra fun with the set up and sound check because some of the volunteers decided to have a mini-dance to our songs; and then we all had more work to do to catch up before the dance started. There was canned music for the first half-hour or so while everyone was mostly socializing; our set ended up going on for close to two hours including some songs that we mostly played from memory and hadn’t practiced; and then we packed up our gear before dancing and having fun with our friends for the rest of the night. There was a lot of food and drinks; a Pizzeria pizza sale at eleven o’clock that was also meant to start the wind down toward the end of the dance; and we got picked up with our gear at midnight.
Our night wasn’t over after hauling our gear into the house. The girls opted to take turns with Jacuzzi time; the guys went with quick showers; and then we took care of getting ready for the movies and cuddle time. Ehlana and Aiden took a turn to nest on the floor; we stayed up too late while watching movies, chatting, and the co-ed cuddling. Nap time was really just that; we were up on-time for Tai Chi and a hot breakfast with Mom and Dad; and then we took our time getting ready for the day before moving on to some visits with other parents; a bit of shopping; and then splitting up for a while because our friends were drafted for work with their own families. Ehlana and I were on our own with Mom and Dad for lunch; and we’ve already mentioned having some help with the work to get ready for our babysitting jobs. We are feeding the gang too, but the Pizzeria is actually doing that; so we just need to set up for that meal and handle the clean-up. We’re also stocked with enough snacks and drinks that not even Zack, Eli, and the other guys will be able to demolish them all; so now we just need to get cleaned up and ready for all of the incoming.
We need to get to doing that, but before we do the Christmas video thing; we want to offer a few quick comments about Mariah. As the first ‘home-born’ Magi Master, Mariah is very popular with all of the Magi that know about her, but she is amazing and special in ways that are sometimes similar to us while quite different in others. Her training has been as-close to ours as possible, and is better than what Mom had as a baby and child, but Mariah has more in common with Mom than with us – or Cassie; and that’s because they didn’t have Magi Master mothers. We are sure now that the prenatal connections make a difference in baby development; and that continues to affect the kids after birth. That’s still true for Mariah through two years, and we will continue to keep track, but keep in mind that we’re talking about minor issues; and Mariah is still a Magi Master with all of the power and abilities. We all have some uniquely-special talents, and that’s true for Mariah too; so we should just add that Mom is still handling most of Mariah’s Magi Master training, and while Cassie, Ehlana, and I might help out eventually; Mom still wants to keep limits on Mariah’s teachers for a while longer to make it easier on her.
Okay, we need to get going; so our video pick for today is a duet favorite; and we’re hoping for this to happen for us tonight with the babysitting! ;^)
