Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 3rd Anniversary, Brock and Karla!
Cassie and Michael’s friends get mentioned because we helped out with getting their gift delivered to them today. That was our only involvement in their celebrations; and only offered our best wishes to Karla while she was helping Lily out at Break Time in the Galleria. We haven’t written about that for Karla, but she continues to help Lily out part-time at the little Galleria cafe while they’re each juggling work with their respective toddlers and babies. We don’t want or need the details either way, but wouldn’t be surprised if this anniversary celebration isn’t all that exciting for the couple of honor on a work day while also keeping up with their kids!
As for our own news; let’s get to that starting from our last update.
The incoming kids arrived quickly; since they were dropped off or came over soon-after getting home from school or elsewhere. Warm weather allowed for some play time at the park once we had everyone with us; the outdoor fun included playground fun and biking with two groups that we, the babysitters, split up to supervise. An hour or so at the park was all we had time for, and then we got all of the cousins and friends home in time for some video gaming ahead of the Pizzeria pizza delivery. The parental help with getting the food to our house came from Violet and Dillon, and while that seems weird, we will be babysitting for them – just as we did last night for a few hours; so we should just get used to this new-normal!
A recap of the dinnertime adventure will not be included in this report because Zack and Eli; so nothing else needs to be said. Okay, that’s not totally-true, but we lived through the grossness already; and don’t really need to share the details with future readers. If kids haven’t changed much between now and whenever you’re reading this, then you know what kinds of ‘fun’ boys like to get into, and if not; we’re jealous of you! ;^)
Moving along, we had dinner and dessert; Aiden and I took care of the clean-up while Naomi and Aiden kept the kids busy on the third floor; and then we all played through until the parents started to pick up their kids after dinner at the Inn or elsewhere. The last kids were gone by a bit after nine o’clock; we wrapped up the clean-up after that; and then we headed for Naomi’s house for the rest of the night. Silkie would have come with us, but Brianna and Lady offered to keep our dog company for the night; so Silkie had a sleepover with them instead. We’d love to report that the end to our Valentine’s Day was really exciting, but that wouldn’t be true. Eli brought Zack home with him; they needed to bug us once we were there too; and our evening ended without anything more-romantic that a bit of cuddle time and a couple of goodnight kisses. We did get to have co-ed sofa sleepovers, but we fell asleep soon-after Zack and Eli got their final warning to cease and desist; so we didn’t even end up bothering with trying to watch a movie.
Finally, for yesterday’s news; we can report that our parents and Cassie and Michael all had better holiday fun than we did; and we base that on the total lack of news from their respective adventures! ;^)
Moving along, it cooled off overnight and stayed cold today – barely above freezing. There were more Zack and Eli problems to deal with this morning – though they slept through our Tai Chi workout and didn’t get started in on their games until we started to get ready for school and have breakfast. While they had fun; we’re mostly just convinced that we need to have most of our future co-ed sleepovers at our house or Aiden’s – at least until Zack and Eli reach a next-level that gets them past their prank and practical joke stage of life. We did eventually get to school, though, and then our academic adventures were highlighted by the good and bad gossip related to Valentine’s Day. For our own classmates; we should simply mention that we’re not the only two couples anymore; and the other tween news stories for our classmates were all good for those first Valentine’s Day dating experiences. That wasn’t true for all teen and tween couples, but we won’t get into the details; since holiday dating and gifting disasters are normal – even in small towns. We will mention that most of those problems do not involve anything really bad – the disagreements usually happen because of miss-matched expectations. That doesn’t make the drama or hurt feelings less-real; only that holiday dramas around here usually happen because relationship issues become more-obvious. We don’t want to go on about that; so let’s move on again.
As for our actual education, we moved on from Valentine’s Day themed lessons; new modules started today; and we’ll be doing more work between now and March Break – as usual for this time of the school year. We had fun; and don’t have anything interesting to report. After school, we met up with Mom for a post-trip snack and chat, but kept that short so that we could also go to the lab to work for a couple of hours. Ehlana played in her lab; I worked in the archives; and we didn’t get home again until shortly-before seven o’clock. Mom worked with us for a late dinner; we took that time for more story time and a vid chat with Dad; we took care of the clean-up; and then we did a Magi lesson and a couple of hours of family business work with Mom before heading up to our rooms for bath or Jacuzzi time.
That’s pretty much all we have for tonight. We’re clean, warm, and ready to get some sleep, so now that we have this report and the rest of our usual bedtime chat and computing fun done; we’re going there and getting out of this digital here!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
