Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy Easter, Everyone!
Happy 11th Birthday, Julian Green!
Happy 25th Birthday, Brock Benton!
While the miracle that we are celebrating today is the top story too, we also started our day with some heavy rain issues that hit town while we were converging on the church for the sunrise service. That made staying dry a challenge, but then the pounding rain was then very loud in the sanctuary during the service and the teens – and Pastor John – had to deal with that constant background noise – including some impressive thunder rolls that weren’t timed at all to fit in with the stories, skits, music, or message! We didn’t lose power, though, and the storm did not keep us from the love and joy that Easter is all about.
Sorry, but that’s just a fact, Easter Bunny! ;^)
Moving along, there was a bit of a break in the storms between services, but the rain only let up to showers at the best; and that didn’t affect Ehlana and I because we were busy with the rest of the teen volunteers that cooked and served two sittings of the annual pancake breakfast. That kept us busy beyond the start of the regular service because we were also on the clean-up crew, but a video feed was available for us to watch and listen to the service because there was also overflow seating in the fellowship hall where the projector screen might be a better view than the furthest seats in the corners of the sanctuary. We ended up sitting in the hall for the last fifteen minutes of that service since the sanctuary really was full; and then we eventually met up with Mom and Dad and got a ride home.
The rain continued, but we were inside and dry most of the time. Mom and Dad hosted our family Easter dinner, but many of our guests also had other commitments for Easter luncheons or early dinners. Cassie and Michael had the latter with the Stone-Bassett clan; so they didn’t come over to our house until a bit after three o’clock. Ehlana and I helped Mom and Dad for a while; split up for time with Naomi’s and Aiden’s families respectively while their parents were also hosting early family meals; and then Naomi and Aiden eventually met up with us again in time for our dinner at around four-thirty. We’d each returned earlier to help Mom and Dad again and visit with the rest of our family and other guests; and then the meal was great too and a highlight of our day. The kids and teens were in the sunroom, and we helped with the next-gen kids; so there was a lot of entertainment to go along with the awesome food.
That pretty much brings us up to now. Ehlana and I are getting ready to go home with Cassie and Michael. Naomi, Aiden, Sophia, and Aaron will all be meeting us there; and we’ll get to have a least a few hours of quality time with our sister and brother-in-law before they resume their cross-country trip at around the same time that we head for school. That’s also why we won’t be doing this update later; and we’re going to skip commentary of yet another messy day for world and political news. We will get back to at least some of that tomorrow night, but let’s all just enjoy some happy thoughts; be grateful for the love, joy, and blessings in our lives; and have an awesome rest of the day!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
