Ethan and Ehlana:
We had fun last night at Sophia’s house, but it still feels weird to write about having fun on Good Friday; so let’s leave that there and move on to the news from today.
It was raining early this morning, so Tai Chi was indoors with our best friends, but then the rain moved out of the area by the time we had breakfast; so the morning Easter Egg Hunt at the park didn’t get messed up. We – including our best friends – were volunteers for the egg hunt, so we headed over to the park after the breakfast clean-up and got to work helping with hiding eggs in the area set up for it. After getting the eggs hidden, we split up to help with different jobs. Sophia and Aaron worked at one of the prize booths; and Naomi and I paired up while Ehlana and Aiden did the same and we were assigned to helping groups of the youngest kids when the hunt began.
It has been cooler today, but the need for spring jackets or sweaters didn’t keep the kids – and everyone else – from having fun with the hunt and other Easter-themed games. We – the volunteers – made sure that every kid found at least a few eggs and ‘earned’ at least the minimum prizes of chocolates and candies while the biggest prizes were spread around too. We’re going to mention here that some of the Magi kids help out with that equity for their friends; and it is not unusual for them to give up finding ‘special’ eggs by slipping them into the baskets of other kids. I noticed Sierra doing that twice this morning, and since Cassie and Michael noticed too; there is a very good chance that she’s been thanked for that by now – or will be with their Easter gifts in the morning.
Moving along, the fun at the park wrapped up by late-morning and we helped out with the clean-up and then headed home without any friends. They all had other plans with their families for the rest of the day; and we didn’t have any sleepover plans set up because it is Easter tomorrow and we didn’t want to risk confusing the Easter Bunny! Ehlana and I had lunch with Mom and Dad; we had chores to do this afternoon; and we went for a bike ride on the trails with Mom, Dad, Cassie, and Michael for an hour before having dinner together – with Cassie and Michael doing that at our house. They didn’t have any overnight guests booked too due to Easter, but they did leave after dinner to hang out with some friends – including Rowen and Tim. We’ve had a quiet evening since they left; watched a movie with Mom and Dad; and now we’re winding down toward nap time after bath or Jacuzzi time.
We aren’t going to get into any world or political news today – mostly because we really don’t want to get into any rants ahead of Easter. The world seems to be getting angrier every day; and the sacrifice and hope for all of us that we are commemorating and celebrating this weekend is being ignored by too-many while others pretend to believe with their words while they actually do acts of evil. That’s more of a rant than we wanted and we do need to get to sleep soon so that the Easter Bunny won’t be afraid to visit our house; so that’s all for today! ;^)
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
