Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy Belated 5th Anniversary, Kyle and Erin Landry!
We should have included that news with the last update, but didn’t think about it until game time – and that was because Kyle apparently had better things to do last night than to attend our football game and get rained on for a few hours! Tim wasn’t there either, but then he and Rowen were likely at the anniversary dinner and party for his cousins.
As for the football game, I’ll start by reporting that the cheer squad had a hit with their half-time routine that included tricks that made it look as though some of the girls did some flying and floating with their umbrellas thanks to a pair of springboards that helped to get extra height for those tricks. Yes, we won the game too, and I had a good day with three of our touchdowns, but it was a wet, messy game with lots of mistakes on both sides of the ball and we won in-part because Varney’s mistakes led to touchdowns while ours mostly led to field goals at worst. We switched to field goals later in the game to maintain a big lead; so the final score was fifty-four to nineteen with Varney only earning one touchdown to go with their own four field goals. We were glad to get the win, but to be honest; we were just glad to get the game done so that we could get clean and dry. There was a Pizzeria pizza snack break after the game too; and then Ehlana and I hosted the co-ed sleepover with our four best friends. While it would be great to report that we stayed up late and had a lot of fun last night, the truth is that I fell asleep; my sister and our friends had a bit of fun with that; and then they followed me into nap mode sooner instead of later because they were all tired too.
It is for the best that we did get a bit of extra sleep because we’ve had a very busy fall clean-up day since shortly after Tai Chi by the river and breakfast up to now. We were happy to have better weather than forecast because the rain moved on before dawn this morning and we had a semi-sunny day with a high that still reached the high-seventies. That isn’t as warm as Cassie and Michael’s Sunday in Fiji will be, but then they are still going to be dealing with another rainy afternoon to go along with the warmer temperatures. They are still sure to have more fun in paradise than we’ve had with our yard work at what felt like half the town today! Okay, we had fun with Naomi and Aiden anyway, but we are also past-ready to take the rest of the day off.
That’s why this update is early again – because I’m getting ready to spend the rest of the day with Naomi while Ehlana is going to be with Aiden and his family. Yes, that does mean that Mom and Dad get a kid-free night, but we don’t need to write about that; and all usual requests for no information about the rest of their day without us have been delivered by the teens in the house! We’re also going to take another night off from world news reports. That can wait for tomorrow night and a weekend update, and we’re each more-interested in getting back together with Naomi or Aiden respectively and have fun for the rest of the day. We’ll have those stories for you too – without anything we wouldn’t share about co-ed play time that will only be teen-rated hot anyway. Ehlana wanted me to change the word ‘only’ from that last sentence, but that is meant to be by comparison; and we really don’t need to take that thought further when our parents are the comparators! ;^)
We are pretty much ready to head out now; so that is all we have for this update.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
