Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 4th Birthday, Jacob Jennings!
We didn’t have anything to do with Jacob’s special day, but Violet, Dillon, and their kids have been involved in their nephew’s birthday adventures; and the rest of his family and some of his friends are making sure that his day is awesome.
We’re happy to report that Jennifer’s birthday party was amazing; and we did our best to help with some of the fun – and a bit of the work too. Our Quarry Lake adventures were great and we got to do most of our favorite activities; and then the barbeque dinner and camping in her back yard were great too. Ehlana and I helped with some of the work around lunch and dinner; Naomi led our little band to provide most of the campfire music that was something of a teen dance too; and we stayed up late with river swims and teen chat time around the tents. Jennifer was especially-happy with Joshua’s efforts to impress his girlfriend through gifts and doing everything he could to cater to her every birthday whim. As half of the most-annoying pair of guys in our class, Joshua is learning; and Miles managed to play nice today too with only a bit of goofing around. We stayed up late; some of us had co-ed nap time when we did get around to the tent time; and then we were up early for Tai Chi by the river this morning.
We had a last bit of post-birthday fun with breakfast this morning; we packed up our tents and gear; and then it was time for Ehlana and I to check in with Mom and then get to work on a chores day. There isn’t anything exciting to write about from that work, but we did add in the yard work at Cassie and Michael’s house; so we needed the entire day to get everything done. We worked through a morning shower, but it was also cooler today with the high around eighty; so we liked that a lot better for a chores day over working when it hits the nineties or triple-digits. That brings us up to now and we’re currently getting cleaned up before having a late dinner with Mom and our four best friends. We’re hosting the co-ed sleepover tonight, but there might not be much to write about for the rest of our day because we’re tired; and falling asleep early might be more-likely than not. Mom is planning on a group Magi lesson for us, but we’re mostly planning to take it easy for the rest of the day.
That’s pretty much all we have for this report. Our friends will be here soon; so we need to wrap this up. Before we do that, though, let’s quickly mention that Cassie and Michael are having fun with their friends, and Rowen and Tim have joined them in Chicago for the wedding too – along with most of the other invited college friends. We semi-wish that we could be there for the wedding too, but we weren’t invited; and this wedding is going to be fairly-large without adding in younger siblings of best friends to the guest list! Let’s also mention that Mandy is having fun this week while Cassie and Michael are away with Faith taking first turn at taking care of her and keeping her entertained. She’ll be spending time with us too, but probably not for another week or two; since Brianna wants a turn too and even Grandma and Grandpa may take Mandy for a week while they’re home for the summer.
Finally, on the news front, we are not going to write about anything for the wars or other top stories of the day. None of our world leaders seem to be able to learn anything regardless of how bad things get; and they don’t even bother to make up altruistic excuses for their actions anymore. Let’s stop there before we do get into another commentary or rant; since we’ll stay much-happier if we move on and have fun with Mom and our friends instead starting right now.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
