Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 3rd Birthday, Ryan Jacobs!
Happy 13th Birthday, Jenna Sparks!
Happy 2nd Birthday, Carson Carter!
Happy 12th Anniversary, Grandpa Grant and Grandma Eleanor!
Happy 18th Anniversary, Pastor John and Stacey!
With that start to our report, it has obviously been a busy day around here for celebrations that also cover a lot of families – if not all of them in our little town. We got in on a bit of the fun for a few of them, but we also had our first day of exams and we had to study after school and this evening too. This time, Jenna Sparks and her family hosted the study session while also having her birthday dinner and not-really-a-party; so we were out at her family farm for a handful of hours after school. That’s why we headed for school early this morning so that we could take a gift to Ryan and wish him the best because we couldn’t do his party too. Mom helped us out with a cameo visit with both of the anniversary couples while we were on the way to Jenna’s farm, but we wouldn’t have been in on their dinner celebrations tonight anyway. Mom and Dad went to Ryan’s birthday party while we were busy; so we’ve also heard the highlights from our cousin’s special day and know that he literally partied until he dropped – despite possible overdoses of sugar from Olde Bakery cakes!
Jenna’s party was hardly a best-ever-so-far for our friends due to the studying, but we had fun; and there were lots of guests that didn’t need to study too – including parental family and friends and their families. That included Aaron’s family, since his Mom is best friends with Jenna’s as well as being partners in running KidZone. We don’t usually think about many of those connections, but that one came up tonight and earned some teasing for Aaron, Sophia, and Jenna – mostly because while they aren’t dating or anything; Aaron’s sister, Beth-Ann, and Jenna’s brother, Collin, are very good friends. No, Aaron and Jenna haven’t had that kind of connection, so that isn’t weird or anything, but facts are not required for jokes and teasing entertainment.
Let’s move along. Our exams went well today – no surprise; Mom gave us the ride out to the farm with Naomi and Aiden; we studied until dinnertime – and that meal was fairly-late because it couldn’t start until after KidZone closed for the day; and the main birthday fun happened around the food with Jenna opening her gifts and the rest of the usual birthday fun. We all pitched in for the clean-up; studied for another hour and a half; and then there was a small caravan of vehicles getting the teens and kids home. Mom took care of that return trip for us; we took Silkie for a bedtime walk while going along with Naomi and Aiden to see them to their homes; and then we had a visit with Mom and Dad for daily recaps and a Magi lesson before Mom sent us up to our rooms. We definitely missed a fun party for Ryan, but there was a lot of other news that we missed out on too. At the top of that list is the start of Grandma and Grandpa’s move to their new home. They can take as long as they want for that, so they are taking their time, but are also hiring help for all of the heavy lifting; and plan on being ready to live in the new house by mid-June. We’ll have more on that story as we go along, but with exams this week; we won’t be able to help them at all before the weekend. We should also offer a wedding plans update for Rowen and Tim. We aren’t helping at all, but Cassie and Michael are spending time with their best friends pretty much every day – even if that’s only a breakfast meeting or visits after work. They’re down to a bit less than two months to go, so they are getting busier and have some trips to the city coming up, but everything is going smoothly; and we’re sure that Rowen and Tim will have an amazing wedding! For the record, yes, Ethan and I have dates for that event; and we’ll also be helping out with next-gen kids and with anything else we can do to help too.
We need to get some sleep soon, so let’s stop there. It is tempting to offer world news commentary, but I don’t want to go there – especially when it comes to the top national political story of the past four or five days. Okay, we should at least follow that up by mentioning that the story in question is the conviction of former President Trump late last week, but we really don’t want to go there; since we know that the story is going to be bad for our country and a serious problem when it comes to having any confidence in our judicial system.
So much for not starting any rants or commentaries! I’m stopping now; Ethan and I are going to get some sleep; and we’ll move on to day two of our exams once we’ve re-charged.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
