Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 13th Birthday to us! ;^)
Happy Belated 10th Anniversary, Tory and Kyle Denninger!
This early update is coming at you now because we’re getting ready to head for Quarry Lake for the rest of the day and night for our birthday party and a night of camping with friends and our teen and adult chaperones. Writing about those adventures will need to wait for tomorrow and we don’t have a lot of time now; so let’s get right to the news we have from last evening to now.
We didn’t mention Tory and Kyle’s special day with our last update because we didn’t think about their anniversary until hearing stories from Aunt Leanne and Christina while at the park and ballgame last night. They’re enjoying a weekend getaway; so we probably won’t have any details to offer that we’d want to include in our journals; so we’ll just be happy for our cousins and move along. As for the baseball game, our Lab Lynx lost to Palmer’s Panthers, and while we got teased about the cheer squad being ineffective due to a day of extreme shopping; the sixteen-to-thirteen score proved they had a close game and that at least two of the teams will be competitive this season. The babysitting that followed was at the Carringtons’ home – though Sophia and Aaron had another group of kids to take care of for the Bassett clan and some friends.
Even with Zack and Eli in fine form last night, we managed to keep the kids under control with video games, movies, and snacks while the adults went out to play. Younger kids were sleeping by eleven o’clock; and only the boys hanging with Zack and Eli were still awake and gaming by the time the parents either came home or collected their sleeping angels along the way to their houses. We had the option to stay, but Naomi took advantage of a brother-free house and took Ethan home with her for the night and I brought Aiden home with me. No details are required for that either, and I’ll only admit that co-ed sleepovers without my twin and best friend now and then can be fun – and they feel the same way.
Tai Chi by the river ended up being at the Carringtons with a fairly large gang – though Zack didn’t join us after staying up most of the night. That wasn’t a very good plan when they had a ballgame to play this morning, but we have already heard that their Mavericks team managed to earn the win by a run over Landry’s Lawless – though Caleb and Sebastian apparently played better than Zack and Eli. We were there for part of the game, but most of our morning after breakfast included work to get ready for our trip to Quarry Lake. The truck and minivan are packed; we’re ready to go now; and everyone should be here soon or will meet up with us at the campground; so that’s all we have time for today. Stay tuned for our next update; since we expect that our first official day as teens is going to be a best-ever-so-far kind of adventure!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
