Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - June 21, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

We’re dropping off our shopping day purchases here at home and need to get to the park for the co-ed ball game; so this is going to be a quick update.

Game night at the Inn was the entertainment highlight of our evening, and while the senior title win for Miranda and Mom was very predictable; Naomi was very happy to have Ethan help her out with earning the junior title – proving that she is a lot like Miranda, Aunt Leanne, and some of our other favorite, competitive women!  We kept Naomi and Aiden with us for the night ahead of the shopping trip, so ending our day with the co-ed cuddle, chat, and nap time was awesome too; and then we used some fatigue healing this morning before heading to the Inn for the buffet breakfast.

That meal was great, and then we hit the road for Crystal Springs.  Cassie and Michael were our assigned shopping chaperones, but we didn’t go in the car with them – Sophia and Aaron did while we went in the minivan with Mom and Sylvia Bassett.  For the record, Ethan, Aiden, and Aaron were among the few ‘kid’ guys on this trip because it is still mostly girls interested in the first major group shopping trip of the summer, but their favorite girls convince them to come along anyway and they have fun with us even though they don’t need an entire day to shop for their summer wardrobes.

Details of our shopping adventures aren’t really needed when they don’t change all that much each year, but in addition to clothes and footwear, we also picked up most of the gifts we’ll need for the summer; and Cassie and Michael also helped out with some wedding shopping for Rowen and Tim that we helped out with along the way.  That also meant that we needed to alter our shopping compared to most of the other groups.  We spent the morning at the mall; had lunch at the food court; and then we spent the afternoon running around to other stores before eventually meeting up with everyone that needed to get supplies at Wal-Mart.  Dad and Anna Marie met up with us there; Dad’s truck was loaded with larger purchases from a total of nine families; and then we picked up fast food for the trip home.  Anna Marie got to have some chat time with girls while Dad got that drive time with four of his favorite teens; and then he dropped us off at home and we unloaded our packages from his truck before he went on to deal with the other deliveries and we helped Mom to unload the minivan too.

This hasn’t ended up being a short update at all, so we need to stop now and get to the park before the game starts because we’re booked for kid control for the next-gen cousins and their friends.  We’ll be babysitting after the game too while some of the parents go out to the pub, but those details can wait for the next report; so we’re out of here!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
