Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 16, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

Happy 28th Birthday, Dillon!

Our cousin’s special day is the top news of the day for us; and we really loved the buffet dinner at the Inn that we got in on as part of his birthday fun!

The rest of our day has been fairly-quiet, since while the rain moved out of the area; it cooled into the mid-fifties for our high today; and that felt chilly by comparison – especially when our morning temperature had a wind-chill barely above freezing.  That’s why Tai Chi was indoors again; we had a hot breakfast; and then church and Sunday school had bonus fun thanks to Dillon’s birthday.  Dillon’s family took care of a special lunch, but we had some family fun with our cousins this afternoon too.

We haven’t written much about Violet and Dillon’s kids in our journals, but we can report that we spent some time with Ryan and Emma this afternoon; and we helped out with some babysitting during dinner too – with help from Naomi and Aiden.  Ryan is coming up on his second birthday in June; and he is a very active toddler.  Emma is six months old; she’s adorable; and she really kept us entertained at dinner – especially while feeding her both the baby food that Violet had brought along and the few things that she could try and digest from the buffet.  We will be spending more time with Ryan and Emma now that we’re heading toward summer, and that is going to include babysitting jobs, but Violet is really just getting to the point where she’s ready to take longer breaks from her baby while also getting back up to full-time at the lab again too.

While the buffet was the highlight of our day, we’ve had a pretty good night.  Dad took the entire day off, and that included tonight, so we watched a movie tonight after getting home; bath or Jacuzzi time followed; and now we’re ready to get some sleep now that we’ve done our usual bedtime computing and twin chat.  Dad’s week in the city starts with our early wake-up call in the morning, so we need to wrap this up, but before we go there; let’s also mention that the countdown to having Cassie and Michael home to stay is now down to four weeks!  We are really getting excited about that – and the trip we’ll get to have to be there for their graduation celebrations!  We’ll have a lot more on all of that in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that; and we’ll wrap this up and go get some sleep.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
