Ethan and Ehlana:
We got our chores and packing done by dinnertime yesterday; enjoyed that meal with Mom; and then went on to have fun with game night at the Inn – including when Mom helped Miranda to win the senior championship – a title that they get to hold for two weeks while we take a week off for Thanksgiving. After getting home from the Inn, we wrapped up our day with bath or Jacuzzi time; and then crashed into nap mode by around ten-thirty.
So far today, we had a chilly Tai Chi workout by the river; a standard school day breakfast; and then a busy school day that kept us entertained until it was time to head out on our weekend road trip. We’re still in-transit to our favorite college town, but just finished our homework; and plan on watching a Christmas movie for the next couple of hours of the trip. The rest of our news of the day can wait for our next update, but before we move on and put our computers away for the rest of the day; we’ll mention that we are part of a large gang from home – and elsewhere.
Topping the list for surprises will be Micah and Jeremy. They’re part of our current caravan of cars, trucks, and minivans; and they’ll be surprising Jaimie and Kaitlyn later tonight because our cousins are coming to town for the weekend too. Jake, Stephanie, Violet, Dillon, and their kids are spending the weekend with us as well; so we might have some junior babysitting duties to go along with all of the shopping, football, and the rest of the fun – if Sierra and Ryan don’t get monopolized by the aunts, uncles, and cousins! ;^)
While Christmas shopping is a big part of the reason for this family-and-friends’ adventure, catching Michael’s and Tim’s last home football game is the reason for the shopping locations – as well as because our favorite collegians can’t come home for Thanksgiving this year – not even for part of their reading week break. That’s why Jake and Stephanie aren’t the only members of Michael’s and Tim’s families on this trip. We have Bassett and Landry cousins; one set of grandparents; and an aunt and uncle – along with a few high-school friends that we won’t likely spend much time with when they’ll have many other entertainment options that we won’t be able to do with them.
Okay, the rest of the details can wait for tomorrow night – or possibly after we get home on Sunday. We’re going to move on to that movie and some cuddle time with our best friends; so, until next time...
