Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - November 13, 2021

Ethan and Ehlana:

Our family-and-friends’ adventures last night were a highlight of our weekend so far.  That meal included several pasta options and the usual sides; we ate some of the baked goods that some of the Moms have been working on for the holiday weekend; and there was some bonus taste-testing to go along with more of the pre-cooking and baking that continued throughout the evening – including while we watched a Christmas movie in the living room.  More than half of the guys were in the lounge for video gaming instead of that chick flick movie, but Aiden and I were two of the guys that picked cuddling with our favorite girls for that couple of hours of holiday entertainment.

In addition to the usual work and school chat updates, we’d like to report that our favorite next-gen babies and toddlers are doing well; ditto that for the pregnant women; and all of our ‘away’ collegians are doing well and looking forward to getting a break at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas.  We can also report that a major trip was pretty much finalized last night, but we’ll save the details for those journal updates.

Our guests headed home at around ten o’clock; we had some work to do with the clean-up – especially in the lounge; and then Mom and Dad headed for their bed while we settled onto the sofa in the lounge for some quality co-ed cuddle time and another Christmas movie.  That was an awesome end to our day; the co-ed sofa sleepover worked for us too; and then our Saturday has been uneventful by comparison.

Tai Chi by the river was sub-freezing and frosty; the hot breakfast helped to warm us up again; and then Naomi and Aiden headed for her home and the bakery respectively while Mom and Dad put us to work on indoor chores and more baking and pre-cooking for the holiday weekend.  The second part of that is happening because of that trip next weekend; so we were happy to help out!  We stopped for lunch at one o’clock; Mom set us free after that; and while it only warmed up into the mid-forties today; we went biking for a while with Naomi, Aiden, and some of our friends for an hour or so before deciding that more indoor play time was a better plan for the rest of the afternoon.  We had a ‘band’ practice at Aiden’s house because his parents were at the bakery and wouldn’t be bothered by the noise; moved on to our house in time for an afternoon snack break with Mom and Dad; and then we were in the lounge again for the last hour or so before our best friends needed to head for their homes for the rest of the day.

Mom and Dad were finished with their work for the day by dinnertime, so we had a quiet meal; the kids in the house took care of that clean-up; and then we watched another Christmas movie with Mom and Dad before we all headed upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time.  We’re okay with a relatively-early bedtime, and don’t really have anything to add except for the college football update for our favorite team this year.  That isn’t good news, since Michael and Tim weren’t able to lead their team to a win tonight, but we don’t need to go into the details; and the loss was in spite of the fact that they each had another awesome game.

That’s enough for tonight, and we really do want to get some sleep now; so, until next time...
