Happy 17th Birthday, Patrick
Emerson!
Congratulations Jake and Stephanie – you’re
officially pregnant!
Ehlana and Ethan:
The birthday party avoidance continued for
Patrick, but we’re sure that Jessica is helping him to survive the
disappointment. Jake and Stephanie
couldn’t have a big party for their happy news either, but we won’t comment on
how they might be celebrating – for obvious reasons! ;^)
That’s the news of the day; so we’ll keep
our own adventure story short – mostly because there isn’t much to tell.
It cooled down to near-freezing overnight
last night; and that was a bit of a shock to the system after the hotter
weather yesterday. Warming up to around
sixty was still okay for early-April, but we still couldn’t be as fired-up when
we needed to wear sweaters or spring jackets while out on our afternoon biking
and play time. Our morning online
lessons and studying went quickly, but we had lunch at home instead of taking a
picnic and hitting the trails early.
There weren’t any major changes or events to write about for our biking or
park exploration; and then we’ve had a quiet dinner and evening at home –
mostly because Cassie, Michael, and May wanted to get a jump on their weekend
assignments. They have a load of work to
do too; so they’ll be busy over the next few days.
That may not end up being true for us;
since church services are still cancelled for tomorrow and Sunday; and the
Easter Egg Hunt that would have been on Saturday won’t be going on either. There are plans for dealing with all of the
eggs and prizes that were already delivered and ready to use, but that’s
supposed to be a surprise; so we’ll wait to comment on that until our Saturday
report. We hung out in the office for a
while after dinner; watched a movie in the lounge; and then had a music
practice before getting around to this update.
Naomi and Aiden aren’t with us tonight because their families have
tomorrow off and they’re with them instead; and Jayden is with Zack and Eli
tonight while Briana is with Faith, Jaimie, and Kaitlyn for a sleepover. We’re obviously not doing that with either
group; mostly because our parents don’t want it looking as though we’re totally
ignoring the social distancing that we’re all supposed to be doing.
Sure, we could heal everyone if needed – as
we’ve mentioned before, but most of our neighbors and friends don’t know that;
and we all take dealing with this problem seriously. We don’t want to get into any serious
discussions tonight; so let’s just wrap this up and call it a night. It has been another really good day, and
while we won’t have the usual holiday weekend fun to look forward too; we will
have a happy weekend too. Yes, that’s
weird when the first part of the holiday is Good Friday, but you know what we
mean; and the sacrifice we’ll be commemorating in quiet ways tomorrow should
have special meaning for everyone this year – especially when so many people
are making their own sacrifices to help others all around the world.
So much for staying away from any serious
comments, but that really is all we have for now; so we’re out of here and
heading for our beds for the night.
