Ehlana and Ethan:
We’re home tonight; and tired after a very
busy, fun day. Tai Chi for kids was
indoors this morning because we were still getting a bit of rain, but the
weather improved while we were busy with our online lessons and studies; so
going out to play for the afternoon was an option that we took advantage of
instead of going to play at the lab.
Parental help got us set up with a picnic lunch; we took that along for
another canoeing adventure. That wasn’t
a long trip on the river. We went east
and out of town; headed back to the park for the picnic; and then switched
canoes for bikes at home so that we could ride the trails again for the rest of
the afternoon.
Once we were all at our own homes for the
night – in time for dinner; we enjoyed that meal with Mom, Dad and May while
Cassie and Michael were out again – with Rebecca and Lucas this time; and then
it’s been another study or work night for all of us – in the lounge for us
while the parents and collegians were in the office. We could have hung out with them too, but get
more of our ‘real’ studying done when May isn’t in the room; and we can’t have
our music practices in the office either without distracting everyone else in
the room. We’ve just finished bath or
Jacuzzi time; and now we’re ready to call it a night and get some sleep.
All of the global coronavirus news is
getting tougher to keep up with every day, and we don’t want to write about it
too-often, but we are thinking about it a lot even when we’re having fun and
playing with our friends. That’s
especially-true when we have milestone days for the pandemic – which today
included passing three million confirmed cases worldwide and one-million cases
in our country. As usual, comparisons
are being made again today – usually to support political viewpoints, but while
we understand why that’s done, we don’t agree with those pointless arguments;
and believe that we should do more about all of the bad things that happen in
the world.
That isn’t, by the way, a suggestion that
we shut down society and our economy to keep everyone safer, but this crisis is
an opportunity for us to evaluate our priorities and to make changes for the
better. We didn’t want to get into a
rant tonight, so let’s stop there; we’ll continue to hope for the best while
being realistically-cynical of our world leaders; and move on to get some sleep
so we’ll be ready for another busy home-schooling, work, and play day.
