Cassie's Journal - April 24, 2017

We had a nice-enough morning to take our Tai Chi outdoors again; so that was a nice start to our day.  I’ve nothing to report from school except for the news that it’s nearly-time for the next round of SAT testing; and there are students in both Grade Eleven and Twelve getting ready for writing them in May and June.  Michael and I are among those teens, but we’re not worried about them; so the time we’ll set aside for studying for them will be for show instead of out of any need to do the extra work.

Those ‘study times’ could be opportunities for bonus alone time; so I’d be okay with that if it works out for us! ;^)

Moving along, it was sunny this afternoon with temperatures in the mid-seventies; so Michael and I went out to play after school with the twins, Naomi, Aiden, and Sophia.  We biked at the park and along some new trail that’s finished that is part of the trail that will loop around the town and is nearly-ready to open in time for the Memorial Day weekend.  We picked up ice cream treats after that; played at the park playground until near-dinnertime; and then Michael came home with me for that meal.  We ate in the sunroom; the teens did the clean-up; and then we did our homework in the lounge while the twins studied in the office and Mom and Dad worked in there too.  A music practice followed the homework; we had a minor make-out session after that; and then Michael and I needed to do our Magi lesson with Mom in the office before he went home for the night.

I took care of getting the twins off to bed after he left; came up to my room once that was done; and opted for some Jacuzzi time with some family business work multi-tasking because I needed to get cleaned up and wanted to enjoy the soak in the tub instead of just having a shower.  There was more work and studying to deal with tonight that I could get done while in the tub; but I did use a time phase to get as much done as I could while still having time for a long, soothing soak.  I took a break from the work and studying while dealing with my wet hair; and then got back to it once I was in bed with Mandy for the night.

That was more than three hours ago in real time hours; and longer if you include the extra time-phasing I did since then.  That extra effort has pretty much exhausted me; so I’m going to wrap up this report now and crash into nap mode for a while.  Tomorrow will be just as long as today and a bit tougher with all of our practices; so it will at least be Wednesday before I’ll have any chance of catching up on my sleep.

For now, I’ll have to settle for another nap, and I really do want to go there right now; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - April 23, 2017

It was a bit too chilly this morning for Tai Chi by the river; so we were indoors for that; and then Michael and I had breakfast at his house – along with a video chat with Jake and Stephanie.  We had a quiet morning at church with a fairly-short service – possibly because we were collectively still exhausted from the services last weekend.  That allowed Michael and I to have a bit more time before we needed to be at the Inn for some socializing; but then we had a busy lunch shift; we did our homework during our afternoon break; and then the buffet-to-close shift was even busier than the lunch shift.

We didn’t get home until ten-thirty; Michael and I said our goodnights with hugs and kisses in front of his house; and then the rest of my night started with a Magi lesson with Mom while Dad wrapped up his weekend homework.  They went to bed after that; I had short bedtime visits with the twins; and then came up to my room and got ready for bed before starting in on my family business work and studying.  The list for tonight was very long; I could only do about half of it in a time phase; and that’s why it’s very late and I’m exhausted to the point of being ready to crash and nap even as I’m writing this little blurb.

That is an option now, and I really need every minute of nap time still available to me; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - April 22. 2017

This is going to be another short report, but I know I’m overdue for a more substantial report; so stay tuned for that next week – once I get through this weekend that seems to be more work than anything else.

As expected, I crashed and napped last night before we were half-way through the movie; Michael stayed for the sofa sleepover; and then we woke up early and went to the Inn to work the breakfast shift.  We were busy because we went with a light staff morning after the holiday weekend; and it was past-nine before I was able to head home and start helping out with the chores.  We did extra work today because the weather was decent; and that included work on the dock, benches, and canoes.  Dad and I ended up having lunch on the fly while we continued to work; and wrapped up when Michael came over to hang out with me during his afternoon break.  We took Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden for a short canoe ride with stops for ice cream at the Emporium and some play time at the park; and then I needed to grab a shower before heading the Inn again for the dinner shift.  Rebecca and I worked adjoining sections tonight; had fun helping each other out; and that shift went much faster than breakfast did – at least for me.

Michael and I were set free early, since it looks like we won’t end up working many closes on the days we open instead; and we headed for Rowen’s house.  She was hosting a teen movie night; and it was already in progress by the time we got there.  We watched the rest of the movie they’d been watching by then; stayed for a second flick; and headed home at a bit after midnight – along with Jessica; since she needed to be home by then too.  That was a few hours of fun, but nothing really happened worth writing about – unless you included the fact that Patrick and Jessica were included in that teen movie night fun as one of the couples on the guest list.

Since Jessica was with us for the walk home, Michael and I did our goodbye hug and kiss on the sidewalk outside of my house; it was nothing to write about either; and then he walked Jessica home – and got kissed goodnight by his cousin too.  She totally did that to mess with me, since I’d been on my front porch and watching them by then; but she did only kiss him on the cheek to get the laughs.

Everyone in my house was sleeping by then; so I only stopped in for goodnight kisses with the twins, Naomi, and Aiden; and they didn’t wake up while I was in Ethan’s and Ehlana’s rooms.  From there, I came up to bed; ended up doing some work on my computer that came up through email; and spent a bit more than an hour doing that.  I could have left most of that for tomorrow night, but things seem to be piling up; and I need to keep up with the work – even when I end up putting in a few too many twenty-hour days.

This hasn’t exactly ended up being a micro report, though, and I do have a busy day that will be starting in a handful of hours; so I’m going to head off into nap mode now.

Until next time...

Cassie's Journal - April 21, 2017

It’s been a very long day; I’m likely going to have a sofa sleepover with Michael because I’ll fall asleep during the movie we’re going to watch with the twins starting shortly after I join them in the lounge; and I want to get to that now instead of spending time on my computer doing anything at all – including this update.  There was a bit of family business work I needed to do, so I’ve already been doing that and getting cleaned up and changed after a tough dinner-to-close shift; so that’s all I have for you tonight.

I know, that isn’t much of a report for a journal that’s supposed to be chronicling my life for Magi posterity, but sometimes the message should just be that I’m too busy living my life to spend much time writing about it.  In this case, I’ll likely be living it in nap mode, but I will be cuddled with Michael while doing that; so I’m okay with that non-plan.  I’m also okay with wrapping this up now; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - April 20, 2017

Rowen and I didn’t stay up for very long after I finished my last update, so I was near full-power by morning – and needed that extra rest because it’s been a very long, busy day.

First up – the birthdays of the day.

Happy 17th Birthday, Brock; and Happy 3rd Birthday, Julian Green!

My involvement in Brock’s special day was restricted to the joint gift that Michael, Tim, Rowen, and I picked out for him and a lunchtime birthday party.  He and Karla went to celebrate his birthday in Crystal Springs after school with a dinner and movie night out; so we didn’t have a party or anything to attend tonight.  Julian’s birthday is being mentioned because he’s a future friend for some of our cousins; and I had absolutely no involvement in this birthday fun at all.

Other than the lunchtime fun; our school day was uneventful, but then maybe it just seemed that way after a busy morning of Tai Chi, breakfast for five girls, and the rest of our fun this morning while getting ready for school.  The busy picked up a few notches for me after school.  Michael and I did our homework; helped out with some work on the third floor of the Inn; and then worked the dinner shift.  We didn’t stay for game night, but I did have a little chat with Mom when she arrived for game night with the twins – before I brought Michael home with me for some music and make-out play time.  Yeah, we probably should have stayed for the gaming; but we were in need of some alone time too; so we picked that over the play time with family and friends.

We also had a Magi lesson with Mom once she got home again; took care of getting Ethan and Ehlana tucked in for the night with some bonus chat time with them; and then Michael went home while Mom and I both got to work in the office.  We used a time phase for as much of the work as we could; did more in ‘real’ time; and then we came up to our rooms when Mom was finished her work.  I still had more to get done, but that’s because I didn’t do enough work over the past two nights; and needed to get caught up ahead of the weekend.

That’s why I’m still up this late – and wishing I was sleeping two hours ago.  I can’t get that nap time back, but can head off to dreamland now; so, until next time...
