Cassie's Journal - May 5, 2018

We’ve had a really great day, and while the work at home or the Inn took up most of my day; there was some play time mixed in; the twins and I have our best friends over for a camping night; and I’m heading out to the campfire as soon as I’m done this update.

Michael and I had fun with our sofa sleepover last night; had a busy breakfast shift at the Inn; and then I came home and did chores through until his afternoon break- including having lunch on the fly while I continued to work.  While on his break, we went biking with the twins, Naomi, and Aiden; set up two tents; and then Michael and I got cleaned up and ready to work the dinner shift.  He has to work until close, but I was only there for the main rush this time; and was able to come home at seven-thirty.  I helped out with getting the campfire ready; put the things I needed in the tent; and I’ve just finished a computer check and dealt with a bit of family business work that I didn’t want to leave until tomorrow.  We’re sure to have lots of neighbors and friends here for the campfire, so I need to grab my guitar and get to that now; and I’ll give you that update tomorrow night.

The only important news for today is simply that we did have a good day, and I’m looking forward to keeping the family and friends fun going for a few more hours; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - May 4, 2018

Michael and I are going to have a sofa sleepover tonight; so this is going to be quick because he’ll be here son; and I want to be ready for a bit of teen-rated fun before we get around to the sleeping part of that plan.

So, with that in mind; let’s get to the news of the day!

We had a good morning; a fun day at school; and Rowen and I had hair appointments after school and did a bit of senior trip shopping to get ready for our big adventure next week.  That was fun too, but Rowen had to work too; so we only got to spend an hour and a half or so for that before she headed for the computer store and I went home to play with my family and some friends.  Dinner and a play night was hosted by Mom and Dad, but other than our barbeque dinner; we spent most of the time at the park or riding the bike trail around town both before and after dinner.

The biking, playground fun, and the rest of the entertainment tonight was great; and the only news from all of that is that I got to enjoy that play time with my family.  That’s true for the Michael and me time I’ll be getting to next; though I’ll skip the details for a different reason! ;^)

Michael and I will be working the breakfast shift, though, and he has worked the dinner-to-close shift too; so we won’t have much time to play before we’ll both need to get some sleep.  I don’t want to waste any of that time, so I’ll just wrap this up; and get back to the real world again.  We’ve had a good day, and I’m going to make sure that Michael and I have a happy end to our day; so while we have fun with that – and until next time...

Cassie's Journal - May 3, 2018

After a bit of rain overnight, we ended up with another awesome day today; I went out to play after school again – including more biking and park play time with the twins and their friends; and that’s why I had to work late again tonight.

Okay, some Michael and me alone time contributed to the late start to my work and studies too, but we were overdue; and that hotter, teen-rated fun was worth the late night!

I am exhausted, though, and only have time for a nap; so that’s it for this update!

Until next time...

Cassie's Journal - May 2, 2018

Happy 5th Birthday, Leah!
Happy 17th Birthday, Diana!

I ended up having some extra play time today that I shouldn’t have chosen over my work night, but I had some birthday fun with Leah and our family and her friends; it was too-nice out to waste all of the hot weather by staying indoors; and now I’ve had to make up for that by working late again.

This is very temporary, but it was nice to have it feel like summer today – and it’s totally unfair of me to be happy to go from freezing to the nineties while complaining when the temperature plunges the other way.  While that’s true; I also didn’t have a problem with enjoying the warm – though it wasn’t sunny very often thanks to the threat of rain and thunderstorms that didn’t get here until tonight – when it didn’t matter anymore.

It is late, though, so let’s move this along.  We had a standard school day morning at home; more bonus outdoor time during our classes at school; a special birthday lunch for Diana because she went to the city on a birthday date with Kris instead of having a party tonight; and I’ve already mentioned the visit to Leah’s house to help with her birthday celebration.  I also went biking at the park with Michael, the twins, and some other friends; we had ice cream treats at the Emporium; and Mom and Dad went with a barbeque dinner with cold salad sides that we had outdoors before I got to work in the office by a bit after seven.

I had a lot to get done tonight; Mom, Dad, and the twins worked or studied in the office too - once they got back from the park and the first co-ed ball practice of the season; and then we all headed for bed when they were done – and then I got back to work once changed and in bed with Mandy.  A lot of time phasing was involved in my work and studying, but I’m ahead of schedule now; and won’t have to work all night tomorrow as we head into the weekend.  I do have a lot to do beyond the family business work and studying – including getting ready for the senior trip; but I’ll have more on that with the next few updates.  For now, I really just need to crash and nap, and don’t have anything else to add for the news of the day that can’t be found from better sources elsewhere in the archives; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - May 1, 2018

We’ve started a new month; Ehlana, Naomi, and some of their friends had their first baseball practice of the season; and I’ve been busy all day from our camping wake-up call until now.  It’s been another good day with even-warmer weather, but I didn’t have as much time to enjoy it today – in part because I needed to start catching up on the work and studying I didn’t do last night while playing and camping instead.  Tai Chi by the river and breakfast for ten was a great way to start the day; we had fun at school with extra outdoor time; and then I was busy after school with band and teen praise team practice with a break in between for dinner and our studying.  Michael and I made an appearance at Ehlana’s practice too, but that was just a cameo moment or two on the way to the church – and out of our way because her practices are going to be at the park this year.

Michael didn’t come home with me tonight; I skipped my Magi lesson; and got to work as soon as I got home.  Including the time phasing, that was way-too-many hours ago; I need to have a nap while I still can; and that’s all the news for today.

Until next time...
