Cassie's Journal - April 25, 2018

Happy 14th Birthday, Jessica!

She’s having a party, and Michael and I stopped in before he went to work for a visit, but we gave her our gifts this morning before school; and she’s happily partying with her friends – including Patrick.  We are helping out by keeping Sophia here with Ehlana and Naomi tonight while Ryan is spending the night with one of his buddies.

I’ve still had a work night here; did that in the office with Mom when she could work too and while Ehlana and Ethan were hanging out with their friends.  It took a bit longer to get my work done without as much time-phase opportunities, but I did get the extra work and studying done by the time Mom was ready to call it a night.  The girls are using the lounge, so I’ll have a bedtime visit with them; but then I’m just going to crash and nap for the rest of the night.

That is pretty much all of the news for today.  I’ve skipped the news from school, but it was a wet, rainy day around here; and that seemed to affect everyone at school as we all just wanted to get through the day and go home.  Sure, there was some fun going on too – including Jessica’s birthday lunch; but nothing newsworthy or really even all that memorable.  I have still enjoyed the time I’ve spent with some of my favorite people – especially the time with Mom; so the what we did doesn’t need to be memorable – only the happy feelings.

I’ll be very happy to get a decent night of rest, and can get to that soon; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - April 24, 2018

Mom’s in the city for a hotel sleepover with Dad; Ehlana and I are having a girls night with Rowen and Naomi while Ethan is at Aiden’s tonight; and I have to get back to that while skipping out on most of my work and all of my language studies.  That’ll mean catching up tomorrow; but I’ll deal with that.

Today, the temperature climbed into the mid-seventies; we had a good day at school; and a busy late-afternoon and evening while keeping up with band and teen praise team practices; dinner for two that Michael and I had on our own at my house; and a bit of studying that we did while having that meal thanks to a bit of Magi-powered multi-tasking.  I would have liked to have some time to play outside and enjoy the weather, but that wasn’t an option; so the girls’ night in will have to be enough fun to make up for that lack of biking and park play fun that the twins did get to do with their friends while hanging out with Naomi and her family until I was done at the church.

We’re going to watch a movie; have a sleepover in the lounge and my room; and we’ll only wish that we had our favorite boys with us – a temptation that we managed to overcome in favor of actually getting to have some time with our best girlfriends! ;^)

I really do need to get back to that fun now, though, since we’re ready for our chick flick movie; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - April 23, 2018

I had a nap; got up early to see Dad off to the city; had another nap; went to school after Tai Chi by the river and breakfast; we’ve had an awesome day around here; and Michael and I did a lot of biking and park play with the twins and their friends after school before I went home with Michael for the evening.  We had dinner with his parents – out on the back porch; cleaned up; did our homework; had a music practice; and went for a bonus bike ride before watching a bit of television and having a chat with Miranda and Jacob.  I came home at eleven; did some work with Mom in the office including a Magi lesson; and then I came up to bed and really got to work.

That’s a too-short update that doesn’t come close to including all of the details of my day – particularly the most-fun parts of it, but I’m tired; need to get some sleep after two late nights in a row; and I guess it’s enough that you know that this was one of those really good days around here!

My nap time won’t be good-enough, but self-healing is an option; and I’m hoping to keep the fun going – even as I’ll be a bit busy again tomorrow.  I’ll have more on that with the next report, but that’s all for now and I really do need to get a bit of rest; so, until next time...

Cassie's Journal - April 22, 2018

We had a dash of rain today, but an otherwise pretty-good weather day.  That’s why I’m having a late night tonight – because I went out to play with the twins and some of our friends this afternoon after a family lunch.  Michael joined me for that play time during his afternoon break; and then I worked the buffets-to-close shift with him while Mom, Dad, and the twins split the rest of their afternoon and evening between work, studying, and going to the late buffet for their dinner with most of the local family.  I missed out on that meal, and they didn’t even sit in my section of the dining room; so I only had quick, cameo visits with them before and after their meal when they were on the way in and out.

I’ve skipped over my morning adventures, but Tai Chi by the river, breakfast at Michael’s, and the church service and Sunday school were all fun, if uneventful; so there wasn’t really any news to write about for any of that.  The same can be said for my work and studying since getting home from the Inn.  Mom and Dad were just heading for bed then, so I only had a quick chat with them; multi-tasked a soak in my Jacuzzi with the first part of my work; and I’ve been cuddling in bed with Mandy since then while getting the rest of my work finished.  I did get all of my work done, though, and the afternoon play time was worth the late night, but Dad will be heading for the city soon; so I need to have a bit of a nap while I can.

By the way – this is a late trip for Dad, but it does happen now and then; and he had issues to deal with here at home due to the tax deadline; so he set up his trip for the last week of the month instead of the third.

He’ll also be leaving sooner than I’ll like after staying up this late, but I still want to see him off along with Mom and the twins; so I’m going to get to my nap now before it’ll be too late to do that.

Until next time...

Cassie's Journal - April 21, 2018

The sofa sleepover and alone time with Michael last night was great; we worked the breakfast shift; and then I did spring clean-up chores with Mom, Dad, and the twins for the rest of the day because we’re way behind on that work thanks to the weather issues we’ve had this spring.  Other than stopping for lunch and a break, we worked until nearly-seven; got cleaned up; and then had dinner in the sunroom.  We had Naomi and Aiden with us for that, and they’re spending the night here too; so that was a fun meal and then I helped Mom with the clean-up while Dad did some work and the kids took Silkie out for a walk to the park and back.

Michael’s coming over after he’s done work, and I wasn’t needed again tonight; so I’ve been hanging out with the twins and their friends while waiting for him to join us.  We’re going to have a camping night in the lounge, and that won’t be teen-rated fun for Michael and me; but we will have fun – and probably crash into nap mode before we get half-way through the movie the boys are getting to pick tonight.  I’ll let you know how that goes for us, but that’s all the news for today; and I’m going to get back to playing in the lounge.  Michael will be here soon unless they’re busier than I expect they’ve been tonight; so I won’t likely be awake that much longer anyway.

I won’t suggest this has been an amazingly-fun day, but we got a lot of work done; I enjoyed the time with Mom, Dad, and the twins; and we’ve had a bit of fun here and there too.  We also had a good weather day – and better than forecast; since we didn’t really get any rain and the temperature climbed into the low sixties.  Let’s not mess with that and hope for the best as we head into the end of April.  I’ll hope for the best for tonight, and it’s time to get to that play time now; so, until next time...
