Ehlana and Ethan:
We’ve had a really great day with more fun than work; and now we’re winding down toward a comparatively-early bedtime ahead of the upcoming fall festival week and weekend.
Tai Chi by the river and breakfast with Mom and Dad made for a happy and peaceful start to our day; the highlights from the church service and Sunday school included the music and helping the teens to get ready for the special service next Sunday that they’ll lead whether at the park or church depending on the weather. Naomi and Aaron are in the teen group now and we’re doing more to help, but we won’t be on stage with them for that service.
After church, we came home and got ready for a bike ride to Quarry Lake – including packing a picnic lunch. A gang of friends and cousins met up with us; we hit the trail; and enjoyed another perfect weather day with sunny skies and a high that hit seventy-seven while we were at our favorite campground. The lakes were a bit cool, so most of us only went with short swim breaks, but we also rented aqua bikes and even got to do some rock wall climbing and rides on the zip lines because the campground was hosting a weekend event and had staff working those activities with some open slots that we bought tickets for while still available.
Some of our friends had plans for one of the buffet dinners at the Inn, so we headed home in time for them to make the early buffet time. Ethan and I didn’t keep any friends or cousins with us once we were home, but did help Mom with making our own dinner and then we enjoyed that meal with Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa. We’re not trying to think about that yet, but our grandparents will be heading south soon; and they’re making the rounds with favorite people before they move to Arizona for most of the rest of the year. For the record, Cassie and Michael had other plans for tonight; and we’re still not entirely okay with sharing them with everyone who loves them as much as we do! ;^)
The teens in the house took care of the post-dinner clean-up; Grandma and Grandpa stayed for a visit and our Magi lesson with Mom; and then Ethan and I stayed in the office for some charity work before Mom sent us upstairs for the night. We got a fair bit done thanks to a time phase; and our work tonight included setting up more help in the southeast as well as some pre-positioning of aid that will be needed in Florida later this week as yet another hurricane is tracking toward central Florida and could become another major hurricane too before landfall.
Bath or Jacuzzi time followed the work; and now we’re winding down fast toward nap time. We really have had a good day and we’re happy tonight; so let’s leave this report on that note and just move on to get the extra sleep starting right now.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
