Ethan and Ehlana:
There is no reason for us to complain about
the continuing heat wave, since all of the comforts of home allow us to stay
cool and spending more time indoors is an option for us – especially when that
isn’t true for all of our favorite people that can’t do the same due to work or
other reasons. We are continuing to
spend more time indoors, though, and for today, that included another morning
at the lab or archives and then more indoor time this afternoon that included a
band practice and some afternoon cuddle time in the lounge. We went for a couple of swims too, but even
that felt too-hot. Naomi and Aiden
stayed for dinner with us; we all went to the park for the co-ed ball practice
that was kept short due to the heat; and the tweens in our group had fun with
the younger kids that we kept entertained with playground and swim
adventures. Naomi and Aiden are staying
for the night too, and we’re doing this update now while they’re taking turns
getting cleaned up with shower or Jacuzzi time – and no, it isn’t Aiden
borrowing Ehlana’s Jacuzzi! ;^)
Since we’re there, let’s also mention that
our co-ed sleepover at Naomi’s house last night was great, but after hot ball
practices and the pizza picnic dinner, we weren’t really interested in doing
much of anything except staying cool, cuddling, and hanging out; so that’s what
we did through until we crashed and napped sometime before midnight. That might be the plan for the rest of
tonight too; since we’re tired and ready to wind down again instead of even
adding in a band practice. That brings
us up to the Cassie and Michael update, and we won’t and don’t feel guilty
about how easy our days have been by comparison – they’re adults now; and long
work days go with the territory for their awesome jobs!
Our favorite world travelers have been in
Guangzhou for two days. The city is part
of an urban mega-zone with sixty-five million residents in the south-east part
of China close to Hong Kong; and the place is important to our future plans
because it is a hub for business and transportation. Cassie and Michael are spending their time
there finalizing deals for expanding partnerships; creating new purchasing
blocs with businesses and charities working together; and developing better
international transportation that will help us out with new work throughout
Asia. Cassie and Michael are going to
stay in Guangzhou for their Thursday night instead of doing another long
evening train ride, and we hope that they’ll have a bit of fun too, but they
haven’t been able to do much sightseeing for this stop because they needed to
get a lot done in a short time. It would
be nice if they could have more fun, but we’re also looking forward to them
getting home next week too; so we wouldn’t trade that for having them spend an
extra week or two in China so that they could add in more play time.
Okay, that’s enough for tonight. Aiden’s about to join us again, and that’s
all we have for tonight; so we’re out of here!
Until next time, live with love, fellow
Magi of the Light!
