Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - September 27, 2026

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 21st Birthday, Jaimie Proctor!

We hope that her day has been good while away at school; and expect that Micah and their friends have helped to make sure that has happened for her.  We did talk to them this morning at breakfast, but didn’t get much time for that vid-chat; since she was very popular with calls coming in from the rest of her family and friends.

We loved starting our day with Cassie, Michael, Naomi, Aiden, and the gang of next-gen kids we’d kept overnight; Tai Chi was by the river because we could do that once the rain moved out of the area overnight; and breakfast with the kids was very entertaining too.  Getting them all fed and ready for the day and then to church on time kept us busy through until we gave them back to their parents at the church; the service and Sunday school were good; and then we came home for lunch with Mom and Dad – and without our friends; since they had other plans and we were heading to the lab or archives after that meal anyway.  Ethan and I had a lot of fun with our books or beakers; used time phasing to get more done; and managed to get home in time for dinner with Mom and Dad.  We enjoyed that meal too; took care of the clean-up; and then we worked in the office with Mom and Dad and did a Magi lesson with Mom for a few hours before heading upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time.  There was some time phasing for that too, so it wasn’t that late when we came upstairs; and we still have a bit of time left in our Sunday before midnight – if not very much.

We haven’t covered the rest of our story from Saturday; so that’s next on this update to-do list.  The wedding ceremony was really special with a big turnout for two of the biggest families in the region – and certainly best-known; Scott and Geraldine are very happy; and we are all happy for them!  While they are in our local news, let’s also mention that they are happy with the life they’re building together.  Scott is an electrical engineer and has started his own business focused on designing and building custom products and systems for the local farms.  Geraldine is a freelance journalist and author; they both work from home; and they are each definitely taking a different path from pretty much everyone else in their families.

Moving along, Ethan, Naomi, Aiden, and I helped Cassie and Michael with getting next-gen kids to their house, and the post-ceremony congratulations at the church were kept very short due to the weather and trying to get other things done between the raindrops.  We had fun entertaining the kids with everything from games and movies to a bit of damp outdoor play time during one of the rain breaks; dinner was a finger foods adventure; and nearly all of the kids were sleeping by ten o’clock; so there was lots of time left over for co-ed cuddling before Cassie and Michael got home from the parts of the reception they attended last night.  No, they were not there for everything, but there were ‘open’ times for extra guests to stop in; and they spent a total of about three hours there over two visits.  That’s pretty much all of our hometown news; so let’s cover the world report and then Ethan and I will get some well-deserved sleep.

President Trump has publicly rejected Iran’s proposal to re-start the peace process while other reports again claim that the Strait of Hormuz is open while ships are still being attacked and a second American autonomous submarine drone has been captured by Iran.  The fighting rolls on between Saudi Arabia and their enemies; and Ukraine continues to get pounded while the news media tries to make a big deal out of a meeting between German and Russian foreign ministries that will mean nothing when the German leaders continue to warmonger in every other way that matters.

Aside from the wars, more news is coming out from the Presidential meetings between President Trump and President Xi, and we have no idea why anyone cares; since those details are minor issues that do nothing to deal with the big problems.  Thirty billion dollars worth of ‘tariffs’ deals might impress a few people, but we’re not even talking about the value of the tariffs, but the value of the products being traded – and that’s a fraction of the total trade between the countries and much-less for their respective, overall exports and imports!  An agreement to talk about rules for artificial intelligence is even more-vague; and will likely prove to be useless; since the tech is growing far-faster than any government can react to the changes.  We sound very cynical, but that visit and the meetings really do seem to be nothing more than a theatre show for the masses in both countries; and nothing will come out of it.  Ethan and I would have been impressed if they’d made a deal over Taiwan; stopped the trade war; and if we’d agreed to remove all of our military forces from the region.  None of that happened; and China is still included in the current version of the axis of evil with Russia, Iran, and any other country that doesn’t do what we tell them to do.

We’re going to stop there.  Our own weekend has been great; we’re looking forward to October as we wind down toward the end of September; and the fall fun is really going to get started with the Fall Festival being up next for major entertainment.  We want to rest up to be ready for all of those adventures when we can; so we’re out of here and off to dreamland right now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
