Ehlana and Ethan:
Happy 6th Birthday, James Johnson!
Happy 9th Anniversary, Malcolm and Nadine Sinclair!
We didn’t have anything to do with the Johnson clan celebrations today beyond the family gifts that were sent to them, but we did get some news from Aunt Leanne tonight while at the park for the co-ed ball practices and helping out with next-gen kid control. James had a party with his family and best friends; and Malcolm and Nadine went out for dinner and a show with their family and friends. We will not write about their kid-free night plans; so that’s all we have for that side story.
Since we started away from home anyway, let’s add that Cassie and Michael have had a busy day. They worked in Akron this morning; blasted over to Cleveland for the afternoon and early evening; and they are still heading toward Buffalo as we write this update. They really did get a lot done today between two meetings in Akron and three more plus a working dinner in Cleveland. The work ranged from more urban renewal planning to inner-city charities and business development projects; and a lot of people are going to be helped in those cities over the next few years.
As for our own adventures, it stayed cooler again today, so we spent most of our time at school indoors – including writing two tests; we opted to play-work at the lab or archives after that until dinner; and then we enjoyed that meal and took care of the clean-up before heading over to the park for the first co-ed ball practices of the season. We might not help with the younger kids every Wednesday evening, but wanted to be there tonight; and had fun with the gang of kids. Grandma and Grandpa were there too, so we spent some time with them; and we are glad to have them home again and for the summer. Mom did a Magi lesson with us after we got home from the park, but we didn’t do any family business work before coming upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time.
That brings us up to now and the twin chat and bedtime computing wrap-up to our day. The world news has been a mixed bag of everything from total nonsense to real risks of escalation. Our choice for top story is a warning from Russia to all countries with nationals living in Kiev to evacuate diplomats, embassy staff, and civilian nationals from the Capital. That strongly implies that Kiev is soon going to be a target for more-direct missile strikes and bombing; and that would definitely be an escalation – and retaliation for recent attacks from Ukrainian drones into Russia. The reports for the Iran war are all over the place with stories about imminent resumption of attacks on Iran to a final peace deal within two days. The latter is unlikely; while the resumption of a hot war is probable just because of the sheer amount of weapons and armed forces that have been moved into the region by ‘our’ military and re-supply to Israeli forces. The political hype continues to keep the markets volatile, but the prices of many commodities aren’t giving accurate signals anymore because computers are trading every bit of news regardless of truth; and actual market forces are being ignored more often than not.
As always, there is more we could write about, but we need to get some sleep now; so that’s all for tonight.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
