Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 25, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

This update is early and short because we’re going to be too-busy for the rest of the day.  We’ve had more wet weather today, but it is looking better for the next four days; so we’re good with that part of the plan from Mother Nature!  Our school day was just a mini-adventure for us to get through ahead of the holiday weekend; and we don’t really have any news to write about from there.  Naomi and Aiden are currently checking in with parents and packing overnight bags; and we’re going to be busy with helping Mom to get ready for our incoming guests.

We’re getting Uncle Rick, Aunt Melissa, Uncle Blaine, Aunt Alison, and their kids – though Jaimie, Kaitlyn, and Jayden will likely spend at least one night with the Everetts this weekend.  There will be a lot going on around our favorite families, but we’ll cover that news over the next few updates; and just enjoy the family-and-friends’ fun for the rest of today.

Stay tuned – this is going to be an interesting holiday adventure!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 24, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

This has been a work day – though we had a lot of fun too.  Cassie, Michael, and May had studying of their own to do again today, but they helped Mom with our younger cousins; and we all got our ‘school’ work finished by mid-afternoon.  The weather was wet and cold again today, so we stayed indoors; and our main afternoon entertainment was a band practice that Cassie and Michael joined in on for an awesome jam session.  We had May, Mom, and others in the ‘audience’ for that little adventure; and they were happy and encouraging; so four of us will definitely be trying out for a spot in the school Christmas pageant.

Naomi and Aiden went home in time for dinner, but we had an easy-meal and work or study plan for tonight anyway, and while our best friends love us; that didn’t seem exciting to them at all!  Some of us are done our work for the week, though; and we’ll be glad to take the rest of the week off for all of the holiday fun.  Some of our favorite holiday visitors will be here tomorrow, but we won’t get into that tonight; and cover the holiday news as it happens over the next five days.  We also want to get some sleep since this has been another long day; so we’ll wrap this up and get to the napping right now.

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 23, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

Three sets of our family’s grandparents got home this afternoon from Arizona; so that’s the big news of the day for us!

We had a good day at school, but the weather wasn’t awesome; so we were indoors most of the time.  Mom and aunt Leanne spent the morning at Grandma and Grandpa’s house getting it ready for their arrival; and we had a gang over after school to hang out with them – including cousins, aunts, and uncles.  They all stayed for an impromptu family dinner, but then they moved on and split up for the rest of the night.  We don’t have any holiday guests staying here yet because Violet and Dillon are hosting her grandparents and Aunt Grace has her parents at the Everett home, but that works for us; since we had a lot to get done tonight.  We want to get all of our work for the week done by tomorrow night; so we worked hard tonight.

That required ‘normal’ time because of our guest, but Cassie, Michael, and May were busy with their own studying.  Rowen and Tim came over to work with them too; so we gave up our usual spots in the office and worked in the lounge instead.  We had a music practice too, but not for very long; and we just wrapped up our day with a bedtime chat with our favorite teens and Mom while Dad finished up a last bit of work in the office.  The family time was the best part of our day, but the work felt pretty good too; and we got a lot done.  Tomorrow is a home day and might end up being a bit weird with extra young adults in the house, but maybe they’ll motivate our younger, prank-prone cousins to focus on their studies and we can all get our home assignments and video lessons done early.

We’ll let you know how that goes for us, but it’s time to go get some sleep – so we will.

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 22, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

We stayed up too-late again last night, but the family-and-friends’ time was worth it; and we can always catch up on our sleep again next year!

Sharing Cassie, Michael, and May hasn’t been as much fun today, but we’ve managed to keep entertained while they’ve been busy with Michael’s family and their own friends.  They’ve been doing that for most of the day – including at church; so our afternoon and evening has been comparatively-quiet.  We went to the lab after lunch, but took our bikes; and went for a short ride with Naomi, Aiden, and some other friends after spending a couple of hours on our work in the lab or archives.  We were home for dinner – without our best friends; did some studying and a Magi lesson after that while Dad continued with his weekend homework; and now we have just wrapped up a music practice and bath or Jacuzzi time – in that order; not simultaneously.

The original plan was for an early bedtime, but that didn’t quite work out for us; so that’s all we’re going to have for today.  We really need to get at least a bit of extra down time tonight – even though we only have a three-day work week; and will only have two in-school days.  Life might not quiet down even for those three days, but that’s okay; and we’re looking forward to every moment of the next week!

***RESTRICTED REPORT***

This is just a quick update from the news we had on Friday.  Mom found out today that the goons that attacked Cassie, Michael, and May are no longer under arrest – and they’ve disappeared from the hospital where they’d been taken for treatment of their injuries.  The story isn’t public, but Mom found internal police communication explaining that the story given to them is about an undercover operation that went badly.  While we haven’t found direct links to the Hathornes; that does strongly-suggest that someone with real political or law enforcement power was able to intervene and protect the mercenaries Gwyneth hired to come after us.  That does also mean that they’re free – or likely are, but while we’ll keep on-guard; we doubt that this particular team will be in any condition to make another attempt against us anytime soon.  That won’t likely stop Gwyneth, though; so we’ll continue to expect the worst from her while still praying for the best.

That’s especially-true at Christmas; and we’d love to find out that Gwyneth gets visited by three ghosts and gets a change of heart for the holidays! ;^)

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 21, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

We just finished dinner and are switching to a quiet Christmas movie night; so this is going to be a micro-update.

It was colder and rainy today – though the rain didn’t arrive until after we finished the morning chores and yard work.  Being indoors after that allowed us extra chat time with Cassie, Michael, May, and the long line of visitors that stopped in to see our favorite collegians; so we were okay with that.  The baking and pre-cooking for the holiday weekend continued too; so taste-testing was part of the entertainment.  Naomi and Aiden are here for another night; and we’re glad that we get to have Cassie, Michael, and May with us tonight; since we’ll start sharing them tomorrow – especially with his side of their little family-of-two.

The rest of the news for today can wait until tomorrow night.  We don’t have much time left before the first movie starts; and we don’t want to be late for it – especially when co-ed cuddle time is going to be part of the entertainment.  That doesn’t work out for May, but Mandy or Silkie will keep her company tonight instead – and we’ll write about her new boyfriend soon; since we got to hear all about her fledgling college romance this afternoon while having the chat and baking fun.  We really do have to go soon; so that’s all for now!
