Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - January 5, 2026

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 10th Birthday, Amelia Spencer!

Congratulations, Kasey and Jeremy Fletcher – it’s a girl!

Welcome to Cassie and Michael’s next-gen college friends’ family, Roberta Fletcher!

We had a gift and card for Amelia that we gave her at school this morning, but that was the extent of our involvement in her celebrations.  Brianna and Faith have helped their friend with the partying; and are with her overnight too as we’re writing this report.  We didn’t have anything to do with Roberta’s arrival, but will report that mother and baby are doing well; and Cassie and Michael ‘met’ her via vid-chat.  They’ve already sent gifts too – along with Rowen and Tim; but don’t expect to visit them in-person until sometime later this year.

As for our own day, the top local news is another warm-up with the afternoon high near-sixty and sunny.  That’s why we had bonus outdoor time at school this afternoon; and we went biking on the trails again with our friends after school.  Our first day of classes of the New Year was good, but other than starting new learning modules; there isn’t really any academic news.  We had fun with all of that; had a quiet dinner with Mom and Dad; and then we headed to the lab or archives to play and work for a few hours – plus the extra time-phased hours.  We got a lot done; made it home by ten-thirty; and then we did a Magi lesson with Mom and helped with a bit more charity work before it was bath or Jacuzzi time.  That has all added up to a very long day, but it has been a good one too; and it is taking a while for us to wind down toward nap time.

We’re currently dealing with the bad news of the day from around the world; and it is ugly everywhere from Venezuela to Europe and the Middle East.  Some people might appreciate the honesty from our President, but admitting that the real reason for attacking a country and abducting their President was to take full control of their oil and other natural resources.  Everyone knew that truth, so it isn’t a shock, but saying those quiet parts out loud is still a diplomatic mistake.  While Venezuela is the top news in the west, the Ukraine war rolls on with nothing happening on the diplomatic front; and the comparative quiet for the news is only hiding the changes on the frontlines.  Israel is very happy too as they are getting away with more horrors in Gaza and elsewhere; and they seem to be gearing up for another attack on Iran.  We don’t like any of these conflicts, but the escalations are obvious; and we expect the trend to continue.  Let’s all hope that nothing happens by accident or error that would blow up the world.

Ethan just pointed out that we might not have any future Magi reading our journals if that happens, and that is funny in a dark way, but then we know that the Ascension of the Light is going to happen; and we’ll hope that will happen before the world leaders do anything that we aren’t yet strong-enough to stop.  That’s enough for today, and we need to get some sleep; so that’s all for this report.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - January 4, 2026

Ehlana and Ethan:

It is Sunday night and our Christmas break is ending; so we’re winding down fast to a comparatively-early bedtime and plan to get the extra sleep to be ready for our first school week of the New Year.  Ethan and I have had fun today, but don’t really have much personal news to offer.  We did not get together for Tai Chi and breakfast – I was with Aiden and his family for that while Naomi was with Ethan, Mom, and Dad.  Church and Sunday school felt close to normal with a bit of extra music for the bonus weekend visitors, but Sunday school lessons resumed with the start of the next round of teaching modules that are loosely connected to Pastor John’s sermon schedule.

Our morning was good; Ethan and I were on our own for lunch with Mom and Dad; and then we met up with some of our friends for a play afternoon that included a mix of indoor and outdoor time that included some chilly biking on the trails; a snack break and some shopping at the Galleria; and some hang-out time at Naomi’s house before we came home in time for dinner with Mom and Dad.  Since then, we’ve had a quiet night from enjoying that meal and taking care of the clean-up through some office work and a Magi lesson to the bath or Jacuzzi time that we just finished before starting in on our twin chat and computer checks.

I haven’t covered our respective sleepovers last night, and I am tempted to share details that Ethan never will, but let’s save that up for another day; since we do need to get that extra sleep – and Ethan might not be able to do that if he spends too much time thinking about his co-ed fun with Naomi last night that included hours of parent-free time while Mom and Dad were at Tracey’s birthday party!  For the record, Aiden and I didn’t get that same parent-free time because we had Hailey and Leah with us while Aiden’s parents were at that same party.  We did have fun; and Aiden and I just saved up the best parts of our co-ed cuddle time for later after everyone else in the house was sleeping! ;^)

That brings us to the weekend world news update, and I will admit that we are not over being angry about the ‘regime change’ operation and bombing of Venezuela.  The damage that our leaders and military have done to our national reputation will fester for years or decades; and proves that we are just the biggest bullies on the block – just as we’ve been in Central and South America for decades.  Our leaders obviously don’t learn from history; and there is no way to predict the consequences.  We are not going to comment on our President’s assertions that ‘we’ will rule Venezuela from now on – other than to ask how that went for us in Afghanistan during the twenty years that we ‘ruled’ that country.

We should stop there, but need to mention that Ukrainian ‘peace’ has still not happened while the battles on the ground and bombing attacks around the country continue to kill people and destroy the country and infrastructure.  In the Middle East, stories are rampant with whispers about another escalation in the works for Israel against the Palestinians, their neighbors, and Iran; since it apparently isn’t enough for Israel to have destroyed Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and the rest of the ‘enemies’ they want to bully the same way that our country is happily bullying Venezuela and too-many other smaller, weaker countries.

Let’s stop there before I get going on a major rant.  We have had an amazing Christmas break; we’re looking forward to the return to our school work and schedule; and we’ll keep you updated on those adventures as we live them.  Stay tuned for that; and we’ll wrap this up and get some sleep starting right now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - January 3, 2026

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 49th Birthday, Tracey Landry!

Happy 5th Birthday, Kasey Foster!

I am going to skip the usual journal news of the day – other than to report that we had fun last night with Cassie, Michael, and the teens and tweens that stayed there for the night.  We had fun this morning too after our nap breaks with Tai Chi and a hot breakfast; Ethan and I helped with the cooking and clean-up too; and then we came home to get to work on our chores.

The reason that we are not going to get into a major update now is because Ethan and I are disgusted by the overnight news that our President and military attacked Venezuela and illegally captured the Venezuelan President and First Lady on what we are sure are bogus charges that don’t justify bombing another country even if true.  Instead of getting into a rant, though, we are just going to wrap this up; get back to work; and eventually move on to the fun we have planned for the afternoon and evening.  We’ll have those stories for you tomorrow, and won’t be using our computers later because I’ll be with Aiden and his family tonight and Ethan is taking a turn hosting Naomi here at our house.  Stay tuned; and we’ll try to have enough fun for the rest of the day so that we won’t still be so angry about the absolute stupidity of our world leaders as they destroy yet another country with no care at all for the people being killed and destroyed by their narcissism and greed.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - January 2, 2026

Ehlana and Ethan:

Welcome to the Witch Falls family, Nellie Roberts!

Congratulations to Nora, Elliott, and the rest of Nellie’s family!

Our day hasn’t been that exciting so far, but we are going to Cassie and Michael’s house soon for a teen night and sleepover; so we are expecting the fun level to go up once we get there along with our best friends and the other guests that Cassie and Michael have invited.  Before we move on; let’s also mention that Cassie and Michael are booking extra teen and kid time this weekend before school starts again on Monday – especially since they are also getting ready for their next trip.  We’ll have more on that travel story soon, but we are hoping to spend time with Cassie and Michael before they head out again.

As for our day-so-far – or the news since our last report; we had fun and were also exhausted by our New Year’s Day party adventures.  Ethan and most of the guys spent more time watching football or playing video games than I did with the other girls, but we also spent a lot of time with the younger kids – taking care of them and keeping them fed and entertained.  We don’t mention it a lot in our journals, but we really love our younger, next-gen cousins and the rest of their friends.  It is also fun to see our next-gen cousins at the start of growing up with Michael’s nieces and nephews – and we include the extended cousins through the Johnson and Bassett clans.  For just one example, while there is a bit of an age gap between them, Sierra Stone, Emma Jacobs, and Mariah Palmer like to hang out together when they are all with us; and that’s true for other groups of boys and girls – even for the toddlers.

I’m getting into the weeds a bit; so let’s move on.  Mom and Dad had rotating groups of visitors all afternoon and evening – mostly because many of them were making the rounds for multiple parties.  That was true for some of the people that spent most of the day with us; and they’d head out in groups for visits to other homes, families, and friends.  That meant that we always had a full house; and there was a fair bit of work to do to keep everyone fed and ‘watered’ from noon through until we crashed into co-ed nap mode for the few of us left standing by the time the rest of our guests headed for their homes after the final football game of the day.  Ethan might be required to offer a football update, but he isn’t in charge of the writing this year; and I honestly do not care about which college teams advanced from the quarterfinals to the semifinals!  If you, future reader, really want to know; there are archives for all current events – or history; and that’s true even for sports and entertainment.  While I’m distracted by that thought; I’ll also mention that our digital archives are growing exponentially every day to collect all of that data, but while ‘normal’ people are happy to use developing A.I. to sift through mountains of data and information; Mom is not writing systems like that because Ethan has faster processing speed than any top-end computer system. ;^)

We need to head out soon; so let’s wrap this up.  After our co-ed nap time last night, our best friends were with us for Tai Chi and breakfast, but then they all moved on to other plans for the day while Ethan and I opted for a work-play day at the lab or archives.  We got a lot done – more than we might have once Uncle Adam was busy at the clinic with the Roberts family and friends; we used some time phasing to get even more done; and now we’re ready to switch back to play time for the final weekend of our Christmas break.  That’s also why we are not going to do any news updates – we want to stay happy; and don’t think that any of the news has been good this week.  We’ll have the rest of our story from today for you sometime tomorrow, so stay tuned for that; and we’ll get started on living those adventures right now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!

Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - January 1, 2026

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy New Year 2026!

Ethan has been having fun with teasing me about taking my turn at writing our journals, but it isn’t a big deal to me; since I can type while cuddling with Aiden whenever he and Naomi are with us and he couldn’t cuddle Naomi and do this little job too! ;^)

While it is my first day of taking the update lead, we are also only doing a quick report before our party guests begin to arrive for the rest of the day.  Ethan and I are getting the third floor ready for hosting teens and kids while the living room, sunroom, and the rest of the main floor are pretty much ready to go right now except for the cooking that is still ongoing.  Since our last update, we had fun with the work we did at the Inn for the New Year’s Eve party set-up; and that was mostly because we did that work with Cassie, Michael, and our best friends.  After the Inn was ready for the party, we came home to get cleaned up and ready for our dates; and then we met up with Naomi and Aiden before going on to the Inn with our families.

The dinner at the Inn was amazing; the party that followed included everything from live music to football game watching to party games; we rang in the New Year at midnight; and stayed for both the rest of the party and to help with the post-party clean-up.  We brought Naomi and Aiden home with us, but Sophia and Aaron had left earlier and opted for their own, more-private co-ed sleepover.  We had a bit of co-ed cuddle time and recap chat, but didn’t stay awake much longer before crashing into nap mode.

We did not get much sleep, but we did sleep in for an hour longer than usual; and skipped our Tai Chi workout this morning.  We had a hot breakfast; the teens took care of the clean-up; and then Naomi and Aiden headed for their homes to hang out with their own families while we were put to work here.  That pretty much brings us up to now; so let’s wrap this up.  Ethan and I will be hosting the teens and kids and helping to keep them entertained – especially the next gen kids.  That should be interesting on minimal sleep, but we’ll survive – and have all of those stories for you with our next report.  Stay tuned for that; and we’ll get started on those New Year adventures right now!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
