Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - April 5, 2023

 

Ethan and Ehlana:

Hailey had an amazing birthday party yesterday, and while Zack, Eli, and some of their buddies tried to mess with the girls while we were outside and enjoying the great weather, they failed; and that was a minor blip in an otherwise-amazing afternoon and evening!  We’re going to leave the main party report to Hailey and other junior Magi at the party to write about in detail, and just mention that we did a lot of work to help out; had a blast; and then we brought Aiden and Naomi home with us for a co-ed sofa sleepover while Hailey kept Leah and a bunch of her friends for the night at her house.  We didn’t get home until around ten; Mom did a Magi lesson with us; and we wrapped up our day with some quality cuddle and chat time before we crashed into nap mode for the rest of the night after a very busy day.

The weather shifted overnight, and the wind chill was actually a bit below freezing this morning by the time we woke up.  That’s why Tai Chi was indoors; we had a hot breakfast; and then even the walk to school felt cold by comparison to yesterday.  It only warmed into the forties today, so we were indoors for most of the school day; we opted to play at the lab after school; and then we had a late dinner before winding down our day with a Magi lesson, some family business work in the office, and bath or Jacuzzi time.  Compared to yesterday, that doesn’t sound very exciting – and wasn’t, but we still had a good day; we got a lot done; and now we’re content as we wind down and get ready to sleep soon.

That’s pretty much all we have for today too; so let’s just call it a night and get started on that nap time now.

Happy 10^th Birthday, Hailey Draper!

This update is just a placeholder report.  We’re only home to get changed and ready for helping out at Hailey’s party; don’t have time for more; and will do a double update tomorrow.  for so-far today, Tai Chi was by the river this morning; we had a good day at school; and the top news is that it has warmed up to above-eighty for the first time so far this year!  That’s going to be amazing for Hailey’s party, and it meant a lot of outdoor time at school today too as all of our teachers wanted to get outside and enjoy the warm too.

Let’s save the rest of the story for when we have time for a full update.  Hailey is having a girls-only party, but Aiden and I get to be there with Ehlana and Naomi too because we’re ‘working’ the party as much as being guests.  The weather is going to allow for outdoor fun too, and we really want to get over there now; so that’s all for today!

Happy 43^rd Birthday, Owen Emerson!

Happy 9^th Birthday, Gerald York!

Mom and Dad went to Owen’s birthday dinner and party tonight, but we didn’t; and got to have a Pizzeria pizza dinner with Naomi and Aiden at our house instead.  That worked for us; we had a band practice tonight too while Mom and Dad were out; and that was our entertainment highlight of the day – along with the after-school biking that we enjoyed along with the mid-sixties high and sunny weather.  Our school day began with Tai Chi by the river thanks to a warm-ish morning; the academic adventures included outdoor play time; and we’re busy with winding down the current study modules into the Easter weekend break.

That’s pretty much all of our news today.  Bath or Jacuzzi time followed our walk to see Naomi and Aiden to their homes and once Mom and Dad were home; and now we’re ready to call it a night and get some sleep – so we will!

Happy 12^th Birthday, Susan Connor!

Happy 2^nd Birthday, Cassidy Connor!

Another nice weather day with a high above seventy is the top news for our day.  It was still chilly this morning, so Tai Chi was indoors.  Dad cooked up a hot breakfast; church and Sunday school were great – especially the last blast of work we did to help the teens get ready for the Easter weekend services.  Mom and Dad hosted a lunch with just a small gang of guests that included grilled food; we headed over to Susan’s birthday party after that; and enjoyed an afternoon that included some biking, outdoor party games, and then the late buffet at the Inn for a fairly-large family-and-friends’ birthday dinner with the Connor clan for both birthdays!

That meal and the birthday fun were highlights of our day; we loved the food and adventures with our friends that didn’t include any major tween drama at all; and then we headed for home.  We only stopped at first to pick up Silkie and then take her along while walking Naomi and Aiden to their homes; those goodbyes didn’t take long; and then we went home again for the night.  We only did a Magi lesson with Mom tonight before moving on to a music practice, bath or Jacuzzi time, and while we aren’t going to have an early bedtime; we’re still doing pretty good for such a busy, awesome day!  We are getting tired, though, and don’t have anything else to add to this report, so we’ll move on; finish up the rest of our computing and twin chat time; and then we’ll get started on some quality down time.

Happy April Fools’ Day!

Some people have suggested that Mother Nature got in on the pranking fun today, but while it was cooler today, it was still sunny too; and the high in the mid-fifties wasn’t awful – even as we’re wishing for warmer days again!

We don’t have any major pranks to report today; and that’s mostly because it isn’t a school day.  That works for us, since we’re not interested in that kind of fun – and Zack and Eli will survive the disappointment! ;^)

Moving along, we had a lot of fun last night with the family-and-friends’ dinner and play time.  The highlights included the food; park play and biking; and some backyard games.  Our sleepover at Naomi’s started at around nine o’clock; we watched a movie with her parents; and then the co-ed sofa sleepover was definitely a favorite part of our day!  Our morning started with outdoor Tai Chi; we had an early breakfast before Naomi’s Mom headed for the salon; and then we were kept busy with chores at three houses for the rest of the morning.  Our parents set us free to play for the afternoon after the lunch that Mom and Dad hosted; we biked and played at the park and on the trails; and then Ehlana and I came home when Naomi and Aiden needed to return to their families for the rest of the day.

Since getting home, we helped Mom with making dinner; we enjoyed that meal with Dad; and then our evening has included a Magi lesson, some family business work, and a music practice before we wrapped up our adventures with bath or Jacuzzi time and this last blast of computing to go along with our bedtime twin chat.  We’ve had a good first day of April without any major news; and we’re happy as we’re winding down toward nap time.  That’s also all we have for this report, so we’ll wrap it up; and move on until we are ready to get to the sleeping party of our day.
