Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - February 20, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’ve had a good day, but as we’re writing this update; the news we’re thinking about is Cassie and Michael’s return home tomorrow night.  The ongoing cold weather is news too, and we didn’t enjoy the walk to school this morning with the low that hit negative twenty.  That does explain why we spent most of our day indoors.  The academic adventures weren’t newsworthy while we had fun with our friends; the lab or archives work that followed was kept short so that we were home for dinner with Mom on-time; and then we were at the Inn for game night.  Mom and Miranda won the senior title; Ehlana and I had fun with our family and friends; and then we hurried home because of the cold and moved right on to bath or Jacuzzi time.

That brings us up to now – though I’ve had more time for the bedtime computing and passed that information on to Ehlana.  We don’t want to go too many days in a row without commenting on world news – even when we’re tired of the same bad news every day.  On the national political front, the fight continues between auditing and cutting government spending and the proponents of never-ending growth and waste with uncertain actual results.  While they fight over each action or inaction; the foreign policy talk rolls along with no serious ‘real’ changes despite the talk of peace; and the backlash from other countries and leaders that want to keep peace from happening anywhere because their power and wealth depends on never-ending war.  There are more-local conflicts elsewhere in the world that we don’t write about that are horrible too, but there are other places in the archives for you to go for all current world news; and it is just too-depressing to write about all of those awful stories.  Instead of dragging out this report, though, we’re going to move on to nap time now because we really want to be back to full-power as we head into the weekend and will get to spend time with Cassie and Michael.  Yes, we’ll need to share them – especially with Michael’s family, and they will be in high demand; so we’ll also try to be happy with whatever time we do get to have with them.  There is still one more school day to go, though, and we are tired; so that’s all for tonight.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
