Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 12th Birthday, Casey Norton!
We left it up to Casey’s family and friends to help him out with a happy day, but did offer best wishes and a modest group gift that was edible before first classes this morning.
Our day began with the usual Tai Chi workout and a hot breakfast with Mom; and she is not going back to the city for another visit while Dad is there; so we don’t have any bonus sleepovers booked with our friends either. It was very cold this morning; it stayed below-zero even for the high; and we’ve had dustings of snow roll through town with at total that will likely end up somewhere between one and two inches by tomorrow morning. The shoveling hasn’t been a challenge, so we’ve kept up with that chore even with our school band practice that kept us at school for a first run-through of the parades music we were given this afternoon. Ehlana and I thought about going to the lab after dinner, but decided to stay warm and home with Mom instead; so we enjoyed that meal and then worked in the office for a few hours – plus a dash or three of time-phased hours.
The girls in the house opted for Jacuzzi time by nine-thirty; so I had a bath while they were busy and eventually met up with Ehlana for the usual computer checks and twin chat time. Cassie and Michael are one day closer to heading home and they had a good day with some business bonuses thanks to great first impressions and making new friends. We love those stories; and we’re also very happy that they aren’t having any problems with bad guys of any type from cartels, governments, or Dark Magi. Let’s hope that we didn’t just jinx their final days in Mexico or their flights home; and move on to world and political news.
There are mixed signals being sent by politicians for pretty much all of the current conflicts and other global challenges. The plans for serious peace talks in Saudi Arabia seem to be a potential positive, but those stories are being off-set by European leaders offering to send troops and never-ending support to keep the war going in Ukraine. So far, all sides are talking a lot without any action that could lead to peace anywhere, and while we don’t want to get into this for every story and battle; that’s true in the Middle East and Asian-Pacific regions too. The fact that serious issues are actually being talked about and covered could be good, but that will only be true if those discussions actually lead to positive changes. We’ll keep you posted on whether that happens or not while always hoping for better than we’ve been getting from our world leaders.
That is enough for tonight. We wish that all of the love and happiness in our lives could happen for everyone – including everyone reading our journals whenever you’re doing that in our near or distant future. We’re ready to wrap up our day and get some sleep now, though, so we’re out of here and back to the real world – at least until we move on to dreamland.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
