Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 5th Anniversary, Brock and Karla Benton!
We can only report that Cassie and Michael’s high school friends are on a kid-free weekend getaway for their special day; and we probably won’t want any details passed along to us! Cassie and Michael are back to work today after their week off, but we don’t have any news from them yet today either because they’re busy and we’re doing another early update.
Since our last report, we have kept busy with the Valentine’s Day babysitting that included a Pizzeria pizza and sides dinner that was scary thanks to Zack, Eli, and some of the other guys. Our evening and night included pranks and practical jokes from the same guys, but there were also video game and movie marathons; and we managed to have fun with our younger cousins, siblings, and their friends while the parents were out for the night. We – the babysitters – stayed awake until Uncle Adam and Aunt Leanne got home from the pub at around two o’clock, and after a chat with them, Ehlana and Naomi went to bed while Aiden and I kept the all-night video gaming action under control until the last guys ‘standing’ crashed into nap mode not long before the early-risers began waking up.
Fatigue healing was needed, but fit into the morning once we could do that without witnesses. That didn’t happen until after we got through feeding most of the kids and getting them ready to be returned to their own families – except for the boys that were allowed to sleep after staying up all night. Our work for the day was just getting going then, and chores at a handful of homes has taken most of the rest of the day to now. Those homes included ours, Naomi’s, Aiden’s, Cassie and Michael’s, and Grandma and Grandpa’s houses; so we really had a lot to do from general cleaning to laundry and pet care for Silkie and Mandy.
After nearly twenty-four hours of babysitting and chores, we’re ready for a fun break for the rest of the day; and Naomi is helping us out with that by hosting a co-ed teen night that Sophia and Aaron are joining us for while Eli will be staying with Zack again tonight. They, by the way, might both be with other friends for the night too, but we’re not in the loop for that; and hope that Uncle Adam and Aunt Leanne can get a break for a night too. We don’t have any major plans for tonight other than a quiet evening. Movies and music will be involved – along with teen chat time and a lot of co-ed cuddling.
Finally, the weather has been a bit weird, but since other areas have been getting snow and other nastier weather, we can’t really complain about getting a bit of rain this morning and then nothing other than a big drop in temperature that is going to stay with us for at least the next few days or most of the coming week. Going from slightly-above freezing to the sub-zero lows we’ll have by morning. We’ll deal with the cold because we don’t have a choice; and will enjoy the co-ed cuddling and sleepovers that will make that much easier to take – at least while we’re indoors! ;^)
It is time for us to get to Naomi’s home now, so stay tuned for the best stories from our day that we still have ahead of us; and we’ll go and enjoy those adventures with our four best friends and Naomi’s parents.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
