Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 26th Birthday, Luke Taylor!
We didn’t have anything to do with Luke’s special day, but know that Cassie and Michael will be with a gang of their high school friends for a dinner and party tonight.
Our weekend started out great with our co-ed teen night, and while we had extra friends with us for the after-school play, dinner, and into the evening; only our four best friends stayed for the night. We biked some trails after school; followed that up with some video gaming in the lounge before dinner; and that meal included Pizzeria pizza along with a handful of finger food sides. Teens were drafted for the clean-up; and then we had some live music fun and more video gaming before we watched a sci-fi space movie that most of our friends stayed for and then went home after it ended at around eleven o’clock. Another movie went along with the co-ed cuddling for the remaining couples after that; we stayed up a bit too late; and the co-ed naps only lasted a handful of hours.
Tai Chi was more fun with the extra exercise buddies; we had a hot breakfast with Mom and Dad; and then we split up for the rest of the morning while working on chores with our own families. Ehlana and I had work to do here and at two cottages; lunch was a mini-subs snack break at around one o’clock; and then we were set free to meet up with some friends for more play time. It barely warmed into the fifties this afternoon, but we still went biking for a couple of hours – this time taking the trail south of town toward the rail trail. We didn’t attempt to get to that trail link and back today, but we had a good ride; and now we’re home and getting ready for our respective plans for the rest of the day.
Since Eli is still hosting Zack tonight, Naomi is going to be here with me – and Mom and Dad – for dinner and the night. Ehlana’s been invited to stay with Aiden and his family, and that is mostly because Saturday nights are the best time for his parents to spend with their kids; since their father doesn’t need to get up in the wee hours of Sunday mornings in the off-seasons to start the baking.
That’s why this update is early again; and we’ve also kept our daily computer checks to a minimum. We don’t want to write about world or political news either; and can sum everything up by reporting that the stupidity continues for all of the most-important issues; our leaders continue to attempt to distract the people with pointless theatre; and bad things keep happening because there don’t seem to be an adults stepping in to explain reality to the children!
Yes, that’s harsh but basically-true; so we are not sorry for feeling that way. Ehlana needs to get going soon and I still have a bit of work to do in the lounge before Naomi arrives; so that’s all for this report. Feel free to stay tuned, but with a twin-free night ahead of us; the best story details probably won’t get written about tomorrow night! ;^)
