Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 14th Birthday, Jayden!
We had a vid-chat with Jayden at breakfast, but didn’t have anything else to do with his special gift – other than the gifts we sent. He does currently have a girlfriend, though, and had a party tonight; so we expect that he’s had a happy day.
Here at home, we had a warmer morning, so Tai Chi was by the river, and the high nearly hit eighty; so we went biking on the trails with our friends after school. Our academic adventures weren’t noteworthy – though we had fun there too with some bonus outdoor time. The biking included a break for Emporium frozen treats; Ehlana and I were home in time to help with making dinner; and then we enjoyed that meal with Mom and Dad before we headed to the Inn for game night. There was a good turn-out for the games; we didn’t win any junior titles with Naomi or Aiden respectively; and we didn’t care because we were having fun. We picked up Silkie on the way and walked Naomi and Aiden to their homes; and then we got to work in the office after getting home.
Dad had work to do, so Mom started with a Magi lesson for us; and then we got busy with family business and charity work. Some of that was in support of Cassie and Michael and the work they’ve done and will be doing in the coming days. For the record, Cassie and Michael aren’t in Kansas anymore, but they were; and the teens in the house didn’t find those jokes as-funny as the parents! There was a lot to get done tonight, and even with time phasing; we still stayed up late and are really tired. Bath or Jacuzzi time was needed after the outdoor time, but Ehlana kept her tub time shorter than usual; and we’ve blasted through our computer checks so that we can crash and nap soon.
The world and political news of the day didn’t get any better today. Opponents of peace in Ukraine are doing their best to sabotage ceasefires that are only on paper or verbal so far; so the killing and destruction continues. Peace isn’t really even being discussed for the Middle East; and even our leaders seem to be confused about who ‘our’ friends and enemies even are; since we help some of the bad guys and fight others – and that isn’t even getting into how many times those leaders switch former allies over to the enemies side or the other way around. The political theatre never ends either; and the vast majority of those stories are a total waste of time to even read about; and nothing good happens while too-many people are distracted or entertained by all of the nonsense.
Maybe Ehlana and I should not be allowed to go on our Grade Eight trip! We are sure to be tempted to fix everything while there. I know that we’re both tired, but for example, it would be a lot of fun to help all of our federal officials and employees to tell the truth for a while – like the rest of their lives! No, we wouldn’t be allowed to do that – and not just because that would be messing with their free will; so we’ll have to settle for imagining how much fun that would be if we could do that! ;^)
We’ll go and get some sleep while doing that; so we’re out of here and off to nap time right now.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
