Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - January 21, 2025

Ethan and Ehlana:

After all of the excitement from yesterday; we’ve had a comparatively-quiet day.  Yes, exams are underway and we’ve had studying after school and into this evening with another gang of teens with us for dinner too, but that has added up to a lot of busy and not much excitement.  College football got more attention than politics from our fellow teens at school; and our Grade Eight exams are happening during regular classes instead of on a schedule like the high school students have for this week.  You don’t need us to state that we’ve written perfect exams today and will continue to do that all week; so let’s move on.

Our favorite collegians returned to their classes today, and while they’d all headed back to their schools over the weekend or earlier; updates were flying around the family as the new semester started.  Cassie managed to get all of those updates faster than we did despite being busy and out of the country; and their work is going well – which for today included two rural site visits for community projects that will help the residents to build better lives for their families and neighbors.  We’re not getting to help out this week, but there is a lot going on with the family businesses and charities this year, and despite the worldwide challenges; we continue to grow and prosper; allowing us to do more as we gain resources and develop partnerships.

The studying went well and our friends are generally feeling pretty good about the exams we’ll be writing tomorrow; so our efforts were worth it.  Our friends headed for their homes by nine o’clock, and then Mom wouldn’t let us work in the office; so we moved on to bath or Jacuzzi time.  She was tired too by then, since we did get up early this morning to see Dad and Anna Marie off on their trip to Crystal Springs.  Naomi and Aiden got up with us to do that too, but the rest of our overnight guests slept through until they needed to get up and ready for school.  That part of our morning was a bit of chaos between sharing bathroom time and getting everyone fed.  Add in the need for extra lunches; and it is no wonder that Mom really wanted an early bedtime!

Ehlana and I kept our bedtime computing to a minimum, and we can skip world and political news for a day; so that’s all we have for tonight.  We’re tired and ready for extra sleep too; so we’re going to call it a night and do that starting right now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
