Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - July 14, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Try not to be shocked, but we’re actually writing this update at bedtime, and while that is our usual norm; we certainly haven’t done that very often so far this summer!

We’ve had another hot day with a high in the triple-digits, and while we’ve had fun; we’re also glad to be indoors and enjoying the comforts of home instead of camping tonight.  Last night wasn’t a repeat of the past few nights, but there were some rhymes; so we don’t really need to detail anything when all that really matters is that we had fun with our family and friends; we stayed up too-late with our friends; and need to get some extra sleep to make up a bit for all of the late nights – though we’re really just going to trade an earlier bedtime with getting up early to see Dad off on his way to the city for the coming week.

For today, the highlights included extra exercise buddies for Tai Chi by the river; breakfast was a crazy-busy adventure as we got ready for church and got everyone fed and the clean-up done too.  The church service ended up being heat-shortened; so we were on the way home early even after some extra social time after the service and a very short Sunday school class.  We packed up our tents before lunch; that meal was with smaller groups at a handful of homes; and then our afternoon was a lazy play adventure because we really wanted to take it easy and just hang out in the back yard or in or on the river.  Ethan and I were on our own with Mom and Dad for dinner at home; we worked in the office after that; and then bath or Jacuzzi time was early because even our parents were ready for an early bedtime.

Let’s not comment on why they might have been more-interested in that plan while getting ready for Dad’s work week in Crystal Springs; and no details will be wanted or written about for that sort of thing – ever!

Moving along, while we’ve skipped writing about world news most of the time lately, we have spent a bit of extra time on reading news stories tonight while winding down with our twin chat time; so let’s offer a bit of commentary.  Our world leaders are still doing everything possible to mess up our world without any positive progress on anything important.  We are not surprised by that reality; and we are definitely not impressed with the stories that mean nothing and get too much attention because those useless issues work to distract too many people.  While the comedy that goes along with the political nonsense is sometimes entertaining, we can only take so much of that sort of thing before it just becomes pathetic; and it would be really great to see even a few good stories where peace and positive efforts to end wars and help everyone most in need could be taken seriously by anyone in power that could actually make those things happen.

Yeah, we’re not holding our breath – which is why we continue to do what we can through our family businesses and charities.

As always, ranting on about any of those stories doesn’t help anything; so we should just move on and wrap up this report.  We’re about half-way through July now, and while we’re expecting a bit more work over the next two weeks as the countdown is on for Rowen and Tim’s wedding; we will still have a lot of fun whether working or playing; and expect the busy to continue – if in some different ways.  Stay tuned and we’ll keep you up-to-date on all of our adventures while we move on and get some sleep starting right now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
