Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - June 2, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

An awesome weather day might be our top story of the day with that being true because we didn’t really get to do anything fun while enjoying the sunny skies and mid-eighties high!  Okay, we did have fun, but exam studies also don’t count as play time; and most of our younger cousins and family were happy to play all afternoon while we worked with our usual group of friends with a few additions for the ‘farm kids’ that stayed after church and Sunday school to work with us.  That’s why we had extra guests for lunch, but after studying all afternoon; Mom and Dad only had Ethan and I with them for a quiet dinner and evening.  There were a few chores, a bit of family business work, and a Magi lesson to do after that meal and clean-up, but Mom also sent us upstairs by eight-thirty for bath or Jacuzzi time; and we have orders to be sleeping early to be ready for our first day of exams.  We’re good with that plan, since we have had a couple of late nights; so let’s keep this update moving along so that we can do that soon.

Since we really didn’t cover our news for the rest of either Friday or last night; let’s do that quickly.  The end of our school week was damp due to the rain, but we enjoyed the indoor time with our four best friends.  In addition to the dinner food highlights, we had some music fun; the boys played video games for an hour or so; and the co-ed cuddle time and movies in the lounge kept us entertained and happy through until we eventually got around to the co-ed sofa or floor-nest sleepover.  Aiden and I had the nest because we were actually overdue for a turn, but that wasn’t a sacrifice; since we do make sure that those nests are very comfortable.  As for last night, we ended up having a camping night with a gang of cousins and friends.  The barbeque dinner ended up being a fairly-large event too with parents of many of the campers joining in and bringing food donations.  The campfire was the entertainment highlight with entertainment provided by grandparents and parents for stories and music by Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies.  Maybe we should add a new name to the group for campfires, but while we could likely go with something like Naomi and the Fireside Phantoms; we’re not even sure whether we’ll keep the band going for much longer – especially since we’re going to have some vocal issues anytime now with the boys whenever they need to deal with voice changes that are imminent – especially for Aaron.  Yes, Ethan could use his self-healing to make that transition smoother, but won’t do that and be too-obviously different from the other guys.  We stayed up too-late with the camping after the fire was put out, but we had fun; and didn’t mind the lack of sleep even though that wasn’t true for some of our friends and cousins.

With all of the campers around, Tai Chi by the river was busier than normal both with the extra exercise buddies and spectators, but we had fun with that; and then we were crazy-busy with getting everyone fed and ready for church.  We also actually got about half of the camp packed up and cleaned; so that worked for after church when we got the rest of that work finished before lunch and the start of our study session.  We took that work outdoors so that we could at least enjoy the weather while not being able to join in on any biking, canoeing, or other play time happening around us.  We focused entirely on the exams we’ll be writing on Monday; Ethan and I did our best to help our friends to be as ready as possible while not actually needing to study at all; and we wrapped up by five o’clock or a bit earlier for some friends as they all moved on to dinner plans with their own families.

That’s enough for this report.  Ethan and I could write our exams easily-enough in pretty much any condition, since we were toddlers the first time we went through Grade Seven, but that doesn’t mean that we want or need to do that; and being at full power does have advantages.  For this coming week, the top advantage will be our ability to help our friends and maybe do some extra work here and then on our family business and charity interests; and then maybe we’ll have a bit left over by the end of the week for some play-fun with our family and friends once we have this last blast of school work out of the way ahead of our summer break!  Dreamland is calling; so we’re out of here starting right now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
