Ehlana and Ethan:
We had a really awesome Friday night! Our team won a close game over Three Rivers with some timely help from Aaron’s touchdowns. The thirty-four to thirty score proved the close match-up between the teams, and while the Three Rivers’ players were disappointed; they were also friendly and had fun with us for a while when they decided to attend the dance for a couple of hours. Ethan and I loved the dance more because we didn’t have the band work too, but we did join in for some of the entertainment because we were recruited for two songs during the Karaoke breaks in the V.J.’s sets. This isn’t really a big deal, but we’ll mention that our main local D.J. has improved the tech with a video projector and is switching to using a lot of music videos when that is an option and semi-original background videos when that isn’t an option – which in this case meant Halloween-themed videos.
Moving on, we loved everything about the dance and had a blast; Ethan and I brought our four best friends home with us for the rest of the night; and we stayed up too-late watching a Halloween movie and enjoying the co-ed cuddling and chat time until we eventually drifted off to nap time. Our Saturday-so-far hasn’t been filled with fun and games, but we feel good about the fall clean-up chores we got done today at a handful of homes that this time included a bit of Halloween decorating that we’ve toned down this year because we also don’t want a major clean-up next weekend. Cassie and Michael’s yard work was on our agenda; and we can report that they aren’t really joking about booking work trips every fall to avoid those chores! We’re okay with that while we can help until we head for college, but hope that they’ll have a different plan by then – even if that means hiring teens or pros to do the work when they are away. Our six-teen crew worked together again this weekend and we had help and helped other kids and teens – mostly cousins – and their parents; so it really felt like a community clean-up day.
Now we’re done the work and getting cleaned up before we head to Witch Falls Road to get set up for the band sets we’re doing at the Haunted Halloween Walk. We’ll set up for the school band first and then for Naomi and the Haunted Harmonies; then we’ll have time to wander the booths and get some food; and then we’ll be busy with our music for the first couple of hours before we can move on to the entertainment parts of our night. We’re still working on our overnight plans, but can report that we’ll be splitting up for our co-ed sleepovers instead of bringing a gang home with us again tonight.
Those details can wait for our next update; so that’s it for today. We’ll get started on the best adventures of our day, and depending on when you’re reading this journal; maybe you can take a break and do the same!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
