Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - October 10, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Emma’s birthday party and dinner included amazing and fun moments along with some toddler-rated issues that would have been entertaining – if they’d been done by toddlers instead of Zack and Eli!  Sure, those youngest kids found the goofiness hilarious, but we had to help with clean-ups and weren’t amused.  Instead of continuing to comment on those stories, let’s move on; since all that really matters is that Emma had an awesome day; and loved pretty much everything about her special day.

Ethan and I loved sharing parts of her birthday adventures; and then we were happy to move on to Cassie and Michael’s house with our four best friends for the rest of the evening.  We had some music play time; followed that up with a movie and chat time; and the co-ed cuddling and eventual sofa sleepovers made for a perfect end to our day.  Tai Chi by the river and a hot breakfast for eight worked for us to get our day off to an amazing start; and we’re not going to dwell on the reason for spending that time with Cassie and Michael before they head for Africa next week.  Our academic adventures kept us busy all day, and then we went with a gang of our friends to the park after school to check out the final day of festival set-up and do some biking on the trails.  Sun and highs topping eighty continue to make our outdoor time awesome, and while we probably should have worked at the lab or archives; we’re ready to enjoy the next few days of play time with our family and friends.  Okay, we played tonight too while at game night at the Inn after having dinner for four with Mom and Dad, but then we also did a bit of charity work in the office after getting home; so we made up a bit for all of the fun.  Thanks to some time phasing, we’ve managed to do that without staying up half the night, but we also needed bath or Jacuzzi time too; so it is getting late.  That’s why we’re going to wrap this up now; since we really want to be at full-power for our first day at the fall festival and the home football game on our schedule too.  Expect our next few updates to be spotty and when we can fit them in, but we will eventually get to all of the top stories from our festival adventures; so stay tuned for those reports while we get started on our nap time.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
