Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 4th Birthday, Dustin Spencer!
It was chilly this morning, but sunny; so we ventured out by the river for Tai Chi and enjoyed that quiet start to our day. Breakfast was standard school day fare; and then we were kept busy with our academic adventures through until we were set free and then headed to the lab after stopping at home for a visit with Mom and to pick up dinners-to-go so that we could stay and work-play at the lab or archives into the evening. We did that; added in time-phased hours while getting as much done as possible tonight; and then we came home at ten-thirty after what was closer to twelve hours of actual work done in those six hours of actual, ‘real’ time.
That’s also why we are tired now; and we’ve kept our computer checks and twin chat time. We don’t want to get into a long commentary on world or political news – especially since there is so much volatility right now that what might be true now isn’t anymore five minutes from now! The stock markets, for instance, have been getting a lot of attention as they’ve been dropping since the tariff announcements, and that is freaking out a lot of people, but the swings are crazy and every bit of news affects those gyrations without even waiting to learn whether those stories are true or not.
Fortunately for our family businesses, we just own everything and don’t have anything to do with stock markets at all; since they’ve basically turned into casinos instead of investment partnerships between companies and investor-partners. We don’t want to see the current system crash and burn, but it would be better in the long-term for a change back to basics for what stock markets were originally meant to be. That also should be a non-issue compared to the real troubles of the world; and the distractions allow yet another day to pass with new atrocities happening with all of the major conflicts. The warmongers continue to push hard and seem to be winning the battle over the peace efforts that haven’t gotten past the talking stage – especially now that most of the talking is really just threats that are all coming from ‘our’ side of all of the conflicts. We really hope that our leaders won’t find out the hard way that we just might not be able to push the rest of the world around anymore, and just because it has been a long time since war was actually felt within our country doesn’t mean that it can never happen again. Every politician really should be required to read a few choice history books before being put in charge of anything!
That’s enough for tonight. We’re going to get some sleep; re-charge; and possibly do it all again – except we’ll add in our school band practice to go along with the school and work fun!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
